starting procedure

Post by bubak »

Is there a correct starting routine to prevent this https://www.dropbox.com/s/xldqqpd4vv7eeli/1.jpg?dl=0 ? - first 500 m in the urban area, no way 800 W and 20 % slope. After this PP started to report real numbers.

Make sure to follow the instructions:

1) Attach PP loosely to your mount.
2) Press down gently near the button, until PP does not rotate.
3) Tighten the screw so that PP cannot rotate

The above 3 steps will ensure that your PP is attached at the same angle each time you remove and reattach it to the bike.

The first time you follow this procedure you MIGHT get false watts for the first 90 seconds, but subsequently everything should be fine. If you want to further minimize this issue, leave PP attached between rides.

Also, in Isaac you can delete the first part of the ride. Highlight the first 90 seconds, then Use the File/Combine-Split/Delete selection to get rid of the bothersome data.

NOTE: if you are using a mountain bike, if your front fork is not locked-out, then the first 90 seconds might still have some watts.
