Finally, wind <10 mph. New )&B for calibration check, pls.
Ah, no longer strong and gusty winds here. Grabbed a quick O&B this aft, would appreciate your review. Wind scaling is quite different from prev calibration rides (I've attached a few for reference), but I'm somewhat clueless on why or the implications. After a couple weeks of wind and attempting calibration will be good to be able ride and trust the data I see.

Actually, your 4/7 (1.61 wind scaling) and 5/1 (1.77) cal files aren't that far apart.
If anything, you had less wind on your 4/7 ride. If I had to choose between the two profiles, I'd stick with the 4/7 profile.
But again, it won't make a huge difference. The important thing now is to hold the same calibration factors as you do your spring and summer riding.

Wow, this is almost like real-time texting...
Whoops, today's file wasn't attached. That's the one that is more different (huh, that is poor English!)

Hmm...this cal ride has a very large factor, 3.56.
Though the wind data looks stable I'm worried that your wind port was partially obstructed.
You can try a ride with this setup, then post your ride afterwards.

Just inspected. Outfront mount, nothing in front of the port, blew into it and nothing dislodged.
I had move the mount a bit. Rides before today were angle up a bit for better readability on the Garmin. That positioned the PP also tilted up a bit. For this ride I rotated the PP against the back stop so the lettering was almost parallel to the ground; it did look like the port was perhaps screened a bit by the casing at the top of the port. I've now rotated it back to the original position.
We have a group ride tonight. I'll have 8 min to recalibrate for this positioning before the ride starts; however, we'll have drafting in the mix so that max not be optimal for your analysis. I'll post that ride tonight; f it would be better to do another O&B tomorrow (winds again will be slight) I can do that.

Repositioning the PP will alter its calibration.
If you're doing a group ride it's going to be tough to evaluate things, but give it a go...

Didn't want to waste your time, John, in looking at the group ride from last night.
Here is a new calibration ride after putting the mount and PP in the original position. I'm also including a short ride (based on me being pretty toasted from the group ride) from immediately after the calibration ride, which is another O&B with a few more miles back home for the start of the calibration ride.
I realized after the fact that I set up the profile using "good asphalt" while the calibration ride was on fairly decent concrete. The post-calibration ride was primarily good asphalt. Also, it's possible the wind picked up slightly during the post-calibration ride.
Thanks for reviewing these and letting me know how you see the calibration.

You're fine!
I can see some gusty winds on the ride.
Wind scaling looks normal, so I think you're good to go.

Thanks, John. When I apply the new profile to myprevious FTP test ride the resulting FTP drops about 20w, which seems more realistic to me. Now I'll stop playing with the profile on this bike and ride. Also will set up a profile for my CX/rain bike (I have another set of sensors for that to enable automatic profile selection by the PP).
Also have a fat bike that would be good to set up; I've read the thread here on that and I"m not quite sure where things stand on the usability of PP with a fat bike. Any updates on that?

Please set up your fat bike and post a ride file.
