Hello Folks! I did a 5h ride this past Sunday in terrible conditions i.e. cold & windy. Upon starting the ride, the Edge 520 screen reported a "low battery" warning for the speed sensor. The PP light blinked red & green from the start, and that continued thru the rest of the ride. I disabled both the speed sensor & the PP power on the Garmin to conserve both the PP/Edge 520 battery, and both devices continued to operate through the ride. There was no power recorded in the Garmin file, despite not disabling the power sensor until ~20min into the ride.
The PP was tightly secured in a K-Edge mount that in turn was solidly secured to the handlebars. The PP was pulled all the way forward in that mount to make the PP logo nearly parallel to the ground. I am riding 700x40c "gravel" tires w/120tpi casing - I used "touring" and "700x38" settings in the profile.
+ Upon connecting the PP and downloading the attached ride file, I saw 501w avg power that is in the stratosphere for me. The other stats (avg HR/Cadence/speed) match up with what my Garmin recorded.
+To address the high average power, I attempted to retroactively fix the file in Isaac and found that nearly every repair action produced even higher avg power. I was trying nearly everything and found some action that brought avg power down to something far more realistic (low 200's) though still pretty high for me.
+ Analyzing the file asked whether i drafted for 9% of the ride - I rode alone for the entire time. There was no direct obstruction in front of the PP intake port, though I had a GoPro hanging off an "out front" mount above and to the left of the PP.
My guess i the speed sensor low battery was the root cause of the excessive power recorded but I hoped you could look this over and report back whether something else is contributing (i.e. PP position, profile settings, etc.).
Thanks in advance!
Kevin

Re: SUPER high power over 5h ride - request for file check,
What happened is that your PP is set for O&B calibration ride, but the cal ride was never performed!
So, your watts are crazy in your ride file, and your Garmin never received power data.
You'll need to perform an O&B ride to fix this setup problem.
The good news is that your PP recorded your ride, and that, by using the Analyze/Analyze Route feature of Isaac, you can retrieve your ride data.
Corrected ride file is attached.
Do an O&B ride and your future rides will be just fine!

Re: SUPER high power over 5h ride - request for file check,
Thanks bunches for the explanation and fix, John - I completely forgot that I had adjusted my gravel bike's profile and decided to re-do the cal ride. Unfortunately I did not see this again until today - I think the PP decided to do its own cal ride at the start of Saturday's ride.
Today's a recovery day so I think I will revisit the active profile, maybe start from scratch with fresh settings and new cal ride.
