Powerpod and external cadence and speed sensor

Post by f_carmo »

Hi everyone,

Can Powerpod use the cadence and speed data from a Garmin ANT device, or is mandatory to use external sensors?

Thanks for your help?

Garmin ANT bike computers do not contain internal speed and cadence sensors; speed information is derived from GPS information.

PowerPod requires an external ANT speed sensor. An external cadence sensor is not required but is recommended.

If your Garmin has an external speed/cadence sensor it probably will work with PowerPod, but older, GSC-10 Garmin sensors have proven to be unreliable.

I dunno what model my garmin speed and cadence sensors are, but they seem to be working fine with powerpod so far. I bought both them about 2 years ago.
