Calibrating PowerTap zero with Newton

Post by bobb »

The brand new PowerTap G3 paired successfully with my Newton. The watts seems about right. I followed the directions by FirmwarGuy in another post to manually set the zero calibration on the PCal screen.
The PowerTap is "awake" and Newton recognizes it (Pcal screen says " dfP found"). The bottom display reads "0". I press the center button and the "0" flashes. I press the top arrow and the bottom display turns to "Start". I press the center button and "PROC" flashes about six times, then the bottom display returns to a flashing "0".
Do I assume that the zero calibration has succeeded or failed? I expected the flashing "0" to be a number like "506" if successful or to flash "fail" if unsuccesful.
Thanks for any advice.
