Hi. I just checked data for a fondo ride in the mountains of Boone , NC
I was checking the graphs of a section where I went up a killer steep mountain and down the backside.
I know I didn't brake on the difficult climb. I know I did plenty of braking on the downhill switchbacks. The graphs show the opposite !
Any Ideas why?

You need to post your ride file. All the graphs look a bit odd e.g. looks like you were coasting uphill some of the time

Here's the ride file. I definitely didn't coast or brake on a 12 % incline !

it may have something to do with your cadence sensor? Notice that when it says you are braking your power and your cadence is zero. If you are producing 0 power and not peddling going up hill that seems odd as well as the implied braking. The braking algorithm probably is base not only on the accelerometer but also cadence. Zero cadence is zero power. That is my suggestion.

I think ronpei is onto something.
Sometimes under high effort you can move the cranks enough to take the cadence magnet out of range of the sensor, if its already near the limit.
Or maybe you bumped the sensor with your foot.
Looks like you had the same problem at 30.5 miles

Yes, your cadence sensor is operating intermittently. That is the source of your uphill problems.

If you use the repair for missing cadance,
Your average power goes from 147 to 162 watts.
