Hi,

Again, you will have to forgive my poor english.

I have an iAero gen III with the trainer firmware but before I had an iAero gen II without it and I have some files (maybe 5) of trainer's workout with speed but without power.

There is a way to modify these files to get power data replace with power calculate from speed (since my trainer is a KK) ?

I already try to open them with excel and replace the power data column. I follow these stems: Import the csv file in excel in a way the data are separated in different column; then replaces "." by "," in all cells where it needed to make some calculation; write a formula in the cells of the power column to calculate the power with the speed of the same row (I get the power formula in the KK site); then copy the power column and made a "Special paste" of the value only in the same column; then replace all the "," by "." (so the "comma separated" files wouldn't be corrupted); then save the files as csv. But neither iBike software or WKO recognize the file. When I reopen the file I modified in Excel or in text, the data are differenty organize than the original files. SO even if I save the file in exxel as a csv, it seems that the file retain some modification from excel (somethings with the column separation). I need some help...

Or maybe, there is a simplier way do to it...

Can't you just take the watts column you have and paste it into the existing watts column. Click save in Excel and you will get a warning that you lose special functions when saving as csv. Just click yes.

If I ever have a weird data point, that's how I make my corrections. Just make sure in Preferences uncheck the Auto Fine Tune option so things don't get calculated automatically.

If you want, upload the two file and I'll look at it.

I think I found my problem. When I save my file (even if I say yes to lose special function), the file I get is not "comma" separated but a file where the data is separated with "semi-colon"... So I opened the file with Wordpad and "Replace" all ";" by ",". Then a get something I can read with the iBike software. But there is a simplier way to do that directly from Excel ?

So I did this modification on all the 8 files I had to do it but then I got a strange result for one of them. The power is "spiky" or "variable" even if the speed is very stable. I look the file and the data seems well, so I wonder if it's something with the software.

I'm posting the files: the original one (witout power)(1), the modified one (2) and finally a "save as" file after the "modification" (??) by iBike software (3).

The Auto Fine Tune option was uncheck.

Hmm. Take a look at the modification I did. File #3 did not have any distance. Also the wind column had two crazy numbers at row 1592? and row 3200? Take a look at your original files and zero those out.

I copied the distance from file #1 to file #3 and it looks OK except that you have too many dropouts in the power data. You need to examine why you have all those zeros even though you never stopped pedaling.

Take a look at this attachment and let me know how it looks to you.

My files looks perfect in WKO+!

But I still dont understand why there is all these dropouts in the power data. Fernando, you should look the file #2 with excel, the power dropouts wasn't there until I open it in the iBike software. The file #3 was the result (a "save as") of openning the file #2 in the iBike sofware. And this same file #2 looks good in WKO+.

Whatever, since I got what I want in WKO+, it's all I need! End of story.

I see there are no dropouts in file #2. Sorry, I don't have an answer. It must have something to do with the older files not having the trainer FW. I just ordered a KK Pro so I will find out for myself soon enough how all this works on a trainer.

You'll see, KK is the best trainer you can get.

Did you get the Rock and Roll? I highly recommend it. Especially if you stand. The R&R is more realistic and comfortable when seated and VASTLY superior when standing.

I had a race where the cadence sensor got knocked out of alignment and cadence quit. Therefore power was zero. When I got home, I downloaded the file, went into the csv and entered "70" for the cadence column all the way down and PRESTO the ibike software calculated power for me. It is seriously cool to be able to edit the file and fix issues like that. I really wanted power data for that race and was bummed when it quit registering. Very pleased when I was able to recover the power data by editing the cadence column.
