Turning unit on after stopping

Post by ldmitruk »

Hi,

I have a questions regarding use of the unit when you stop during a ride long enough for the unit to power done. For example, on our weekly coffee ride we'll stop for coffee for about 1/2 hour or so and I have to start the unit up again. Is it necessary to redo the wind and tilt calibration be fore continuing on with the ride? On a related note, is possible to turn the unit off manually?

Cheers!

I had that the other day. If you are using a wired mount it should just start up again; if you are on wireless it will need to find the signals again - press the centre button as normal and start pedalling. It should pick up the signals in a few seconds. I'm not sure if it's the simplest method, but you can turn the unit off manually by going into Set Up, finding the battery screen and pressing the centre button.

What I did was just a step different....
While the iBike is still asleep.
Rotate the crank and wheel to wake the sensors (pick up the rear end of bike)
Hit the button on the iBike and the speed should flash and announce that it has
round the sensors (like normal)..
Ride on.. This way you don't loose a few seconds of data.

For a 1/2 hour stop, most of the time it will work out fine to not bother with redoing wind offset and tilt cal. I would definitly not worry about it and just fix it in iBike2 later if needed. On the other hand, if you are heading out to do intervals and need the best accuracy, it would be worth the trouble.
