So far I've been very pleased with the performance of my Newton. But today I rode for the first time in rainy conditions, first half of the ride seems ok, all data looks okay, then in the middle of the ride about 36 min the Newton wind data goes ballistic. Any explanation on this?
I suspect that rain has come inside the wind sensor opening and screwed up the unit.
Another strange thing is that the ride file is named ...._0_km

Re: iBike Newton and rain don't mix?
When rain gets into the wind port, wind readings can go wacky until the water is removed. You can do this by shaking out the water.
There are several workarounds:
1) If you ride frequently in the rain, purchase a Remote Wind Sensor. This allows wind readings to be taken even when it's raining.
2) After the ride, in Isaac use the Tools/Repair/"Repair Selection for blocked wind sensor" feature. Just highlight the problem section, then use the command.
