AeroPod, PowerPod and Newton

Hello,
Good morning fellow bikers.
I need some advice about buying a new Ibike. I am an enthusiast for a few years ago (I had all generations) and now I am debating with a problem. Ibike Idash+ Power or Newton?
My Gen3 IAero got the screen with some invisible characters ... No water, nothing external like falls. The unit just start to fade out only at second and third on-screen data... (Bad LCD contacts)?
But the main reason of the topic is also some debate about that new generation of Ibike produts:
The owners Idash power can help?
Or even someone of velocomp can advice me.
Honestly, I use the power meter for training and competition (MTB). The focus is training. In Idash Power we can visualize the training series, wich can help a lot. But a had reed that at outdoor the screen is dificult to see. Is that right?

Ps if anyone knows what might be going to the screen, help welcome.

I would get the Newton, particularly if you are doing MTB competition. The Newton is lighter but still uses the same sensor technology as the + Power.

You'll also be able to trade-in your Gen III and get full credit for it, even though some of its characters have faded.

I have the iAero now. I also have a powertap.
I race a single speed hardtail 29er and this talk about MTB has me wondering if I should trade in the Iaero. The iAero doesn't work well for mtb. But if the Newton has new technology that would make it work then I'm interested for sure.

A fundamental assumption of opposing force measurement is that the bike does not have a flexible suspension.

Mountain bikes have flexible suspensions.

You can get reasonable numbers over time with an iBike on your MTB, but the Newton will work about the same.

I agree with your comments on batteries and wireless mounts; the Newton is a LOT better!

The biggest problem for mountain bike usage is the units inablity to adjust tilt fast enough. Sure wish that the algorithm could make the neccessary adjustments quicker, but I guess thats not going to happen. That being said I had the same problem with my road bike so I sure hope the new sensors will help out. Looking forward to getting my new unit...hopefully soon.
