FYI Wireless Head Battery

Just a note, that I had to change the battery in the wireless head today. That means 1862 miles since I got my wireless unit. I guess with summer coming, I should expect a few more miles. I got a WLS FAIL and it would not pair up. I knew the iBike battery was good, so I took a shot at the wireless head battery; it was down to 2.56v. No re-pairing was necessary, just flipped a new battery in, turned on the iBike and it found everything right away.

Life is good.

The battery in the wireless head quit today at 2.56v. That's 40 days on a battery for the wireless head. Is that about normal? If so I will start replacing it once a month so I don't lose part of a ride again.

This is the only problem with all these wireless sensors all over the place. Lots of batteries to worry about! What we need now is the ANT+Sport power transmitter similar to the technology they are talking about using for cell phones...

More push in the technology means more voltage needed to run the machine. The 705's are heavier for a reason... Lots of reasons, actually, but batteries are part of that.

Got it, thanks. Looks like every 30-40 days for the wireless head battery. I can live with that.
