iBike Date/Time does not stick

All,

I continually find that my iBike does not hold date and time settings. I have to update it prior to each use - otherwise it defaults back to July of 2007.

What's the trick to have the date/time set and then persist correctly?

Sounds odd. Are you regularly removing the battery from the unit? Is the date & time set correctly on your computer?

No - I have not been removing the battery.

I have the time set correctly on my PC, and have used several set options for date/time from within the iBike 2 for Windows Software; one under Device > Set Date and Time and some other place that I cannot seem to recall.

In fact, I just checked the unit again (while attached to my PC). I reset the date/time this morning before my ride. I go into the setup menu (Up Arrow for two seconds), and then scroll to the year, month/day, and clock and they are all back to 2007 / 07-12 / 11:17.

I agree that this is strange, but I do not seem to be able to come up with a reasonable explanation.

I just set it again (through the software) and verified that the change is reflected on the iBike (at least for now).

Thanks.

After submitting the previous post, I removed the iBike from my PC connection. I just reconnected and examined the date/time - back to July of 2007.

Is it possible that an attempt to communicate wirelessly could reset the date/time. The only thing that seems consistent here is that after connecting to my PC and the unit powers up - I receive the message stating that wireless failed.

Any other ideas?

What's your battery voltage reading in the setup pages?

That's getting low. Did it keep the time when the battery was fresher?

I do not recall the behavior being any different.

You say that the battery is getting low.....

I have a total riding time on this battery that is only about 3.5 hours (on the trainer in trainer mode with avg sessions of around 45 minutes). How long should I expect to be able to ride on a single battery? Do people carry extra batteries and switch them mid-ride?

I was getting about 8rs on my wired unit and now almost double if not more on the wireless.
