I have had my iBike since Jan and I love it. I have the Ibike Pro III and just loaded 4.02 and have 3.0.6 for windows. During my ride today the power meter seemed to be steadier and didn't jump up down so much. Also the my heartrate monitor seemed the same as the power meter(as being steadier) and the top heartrate was down about 15 bpm, which seemed more normal then some of the values I have seen.(Like 203 bpm) But I have some questions about it.

1) Can I do a month or yearly total for my mileage or total time on my bike with the software?
2) Do I need to re cal my ibike each time I upgrade the firmware?
3) Is there someone at ibike or on the forum that will look over the file from a calibration ride to make sure I'm getting the right information and that I didn't screw it up?

Thx for the help

Brett

Glad you are enjoying riding with power.

1. The current iBike software only pulls up information from one ride, it doesn't have the "journal" function to it. There is another great power analysis software called Cyclingpeaks WKO+. It's not a free software but it really unlocks the potential of using a power meter. You can drag and drop all your iBike files into this software and it will keep track of all your metrics and even help you to plan when you want to hit your peak fitness.

2. Nope, uploading firmware doesn't adjust any of your settings. You should be able to just load it up and go for a ride. You can always reload a profile from the software as well. The only time you may want to change your profile is if you change positions drastically or a change in seasons and riding clothing. For instance I know that my summer cda is .318, but when I wear my winter clothing it can jump up to .330

3. Yes, I am that guy. If you want, you can send a solo ride file done on a fairly calm day to me at boyd (at) totalcyclist dot com. I will take a look at the ride file for you and make sure everything is right for you.

If you happen to be a Mac computer user and also use a Garmin or other ANT+ bike computer/GPS (including an iPhone) there is another place you can look for additional software: http://www.montebellosoftware.com/index.html - ASCENT is a nice package to track your ride data. But if all you have is the iBike, then the cyclingpeaks is a fair choice. Alternative is to write your own macro to read the files into EXCEL or other spreadsheet software.
