My iPro needs to be repaired. In the meantime, I could fall back to using the GenII iPro (I can't imagine being without my iBike now!). Can I download a GenIII profile to a GenII unit?
Thanks.

Re: Can I use a GenIII profile with a GenII unit?
Really, John? From posts I've seen in the past, I gathered that each iBike unit had unique qualities, especially in the performance of the wind pressure/"speed" sensor (and perhaps temperature sensitivity), that required a unique calibration/profile (reflected in the wind offset value) to establish optimal accuracy...I'm surprised.
Or, do you just mean it won't ruin a GenIII to load a Gen II profile into it?

Re: Can I use a GenIII profile with a GenII unit?
I guess the wind scaling will be out...but the bike weight, tilt and friction derived from the GenIII coast downs should still be correct
My guess is that I can download the profile and then just do an out and bike ride to get the wind scaling? I'm not sure how I do this in the software...

To update the wind scaling you will need to do the out and back ride. Then in the software go to profiles->download coastdowns and cal ride. Update the profile with the new wind scaling number, and change the aero so that the cda number is the same between the two units.
