What case comes when you buy an iBike Powerhouse

Post by jazclrint »

I have a customer I have been trying to lean towards a Newton, but the price and fact no one in the area has heard of or uses an iBike other than me (over weigh mechanic with an iSport) doesn't help. She is older and "wants to run with the big dogs" but doesn't have any money to spend, really. She does work hard to train, but has said that she feels she has hit a plateau, and can't afford a coach. I have been taking a good gander at the iBike store today (which i do every few months) and saw that a Powerhouse is only $279, half the price of a Dash + Power.

Is it really a powermeter? What does it not have/do that it casts so little? She has an iPhone, and this just might be the ticket to getting her faster! Also,we have plenty of iPhone users come in the shop. A powermeter/coach for that price will tickle the fancy of at least 2 or 3 of them.

Also, what is the possibility of upgrading in the future?

Thank you,
Rich

If her goal is to use power to get faster/better on the bike, then the POWERHOUSE (PH) is absolutely perfect.

the PH is a real power meter, using the same technology as our Newton and Dash + Power products. The difference is the PH app, which focuses on fitness goals, not lots of power numbers.

Hunter Allen is the "coach in a box" included in the app; Hunter's plans are amazing and really do work.

The PH is less expensive because uses your iPhone as the display device, and because the app is very simple--no power numbers, just power-based riding.

The PH can be upgraded to a + Power with a firmware unlock key.

Hi John
Above you said you could upgrade the Powerhouse, to a Dash + Power with a firmware key!
I can not find this option in your store on the internet!
Could you please tell me where to find this, and how to do this, and how much the upgrade will cost!

Thanks a bunch!

Sorry for not responding sooner. We have the upgrade available; it is $249. It will turn the POWERHOUSE into a fully functioning + Power. You will be able to use both the POWERHOUSE app and the iBike app; your choice!

The upgrade is not yet on our store, but you can order it at any time; all we will need is the serial number of your POWERHOUSE case.
