Not sure if I have calibrated correctly

Post by markrw1 »

Ok, I'm very new to the world of power meters so not really sure what I'm looking at, data wise.
I've paired my powerpod and completed a 5min ride, all seemed ok, the readings went up gradually until it reached 100 then I started getting some readings. I turned round and rode home and the power readings on my Garmin disappeared completely. Should this have happened?
Here's my ride file. I did stop and restart the power pod with no improvement.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Think I've posted this in the wrong section, apologies. If a mod could move it to Powerpod setup that would be great.

Hmm...it looks like this ride file was corrupted.

Press-hold your PP button for about 10 seconds, to perform a hard reset. Your light will go out momentarily, then turn back on.

Then, reset your profile (Device/Setup/Reset Profile-Device) to clear your profile information.

Finally, make sure that the word "PowerPod" is approximately level to the ground when you attach your PP to your bike mount.

Do a new cal ride and then short ride afterwards. Post the short ride.

Thanks, will do. Would I be better sorting out all my bespoke profile data (as I will have reset and cleared what was stored) after the calibration ride and then adding in afterwards or shouldn't it make a difference?

When you follow the steps your profile data will be removed automatically.

Ok, this looks a lot better. I've followed the prompts and set my better accuracy data too.

My max power, seems a bit high for me, but the average looks good. Is it better to let the PP smooth the data or send the raw data to my Garmin and let that smooth the data? Any other tweaks necessary do you think? I forget to pair my HR monitor, will I have to do another cal ride to add this?
Thanks for your help.

Your profile needed a bit of tweaking (using the Check Calibration command) which I did. Attached.

Your max power is fine. For short accelerations your power is correct!

You can pair your HR strap to PP; afterwards, you won't have to do a new cal ride.
