TT mount without RWS

Post by Jonathan »

Hi,
I'm currently thinking of installing my iBike on my tribike and thought that i might mount it between the aerobars but as far forward as possible and without my hands interfering with the wind port. Do you think it will work or will the turbulence make the numbers incorrect?

You might be OK as far as the wind port goes but you need to be very careful how you mount it. If you mount from one of the aerobars I'm concerned your pulling on the bars will skew the the power numbers.

Note that the end average results as far as AP and NP will probably be correct because the Newton will figure out something is not right when you twist the bars up or down. However, if you're going to use the Newton for holding a certain power range then you might find yourself chasing numbers.

If you're going to mount from the main bar with a long mount you might have significant vibration issues.

I would recommend using the RWS.
