"Do Cal"

I finally was able to get out on the road last week. I used the same profile stored in Profile 1 (P1) that I had used last fall. The first few rides, no problems at all. Then, one morning I turned the Newton on, and I got "Do Cal"/"------" showing on the screen. I hadn't touched the Newton since the ride the day before (didn't even upload the data). I couldn't get it to do anything and I didn't have time for a cal ride, so I just used the profile in P2. When I got home, I plugged the Newton into my laptop and made sure the profile I wanted in P1 was there, but still, Newton showed "Do Cal"/"-----" when P1 was selected.
Also, I noticed in User setup, a new screen called PCal which I haven't seen before. Basically, it seems that until I can actually do Cal Ride in P1, it's off limits.
Any ideas what's going on here and what's PCal for?
