Here is an announcement we are very pleased to make:

Velocomp Announces Quarq CinQo Compatibility

Ennis, MT (March 14, 2008) -- Velocomp LLP, makers of the iBike Pro power meter, announced today new firmware and iBike 2 software that allows any wireless iBike system to receive, record, and display power data from the new Quarq CinQo crank-based power sensor.

"For cyclists who prefer direct-force power measurement, the iBike and CinQo work hand-in-hand to provide a lightweight, precise, and very cost-effective solution." said John Hamann, CEO of Velocomp LLP. "Along with the CinQo's crank-based power data, the cyclist also has access to the full spectrum of iBike data, including hill slope, wind speed, bike speed, cadence, heart rate, elevation, and more. Also, iBike and CinQo data together make it possible to add exciting new features which we will be announcing soon".

This new compatibility is created by the ANT+Sport network, which allows devices from different manufactures (like the CinQo and the wireless iBike) to operate together.
"We are very excited to work with iBike. The CinQo and iBike as a pair is a powerful combination and will open new doors in bicycle data", said Jim Meyer, CEO of Quarq, "It is really simple to set up and use the iBike to receive CinQo power data, and the iBike 2 software is a very powerful analysis tool."

The iBike software and firmware which is required to enable CinQo compatibility will be available soon on the iBike website http://www.ibikesports.com.

-- -- -- ------------------------------------

Why did we do this? 1) We hope that people who choose to purchase the CinQo will consider the iBike as an alternative to the 705 as a means of displaying power data. 2) As the press release says, there are some REALLY COOL things that can happen when iBike and CinQo data are used together. We'll be making more announcements about that shortly.

No. You'll need to visit Quarq's site and order products from them directly.

I ride Campagnolo, and a compact crankset to boot; hence the Quarq is useless to me.
