That's it!

We are working on production schedule now. Should be available for order prior to Christmas, and ship in January.

Hi John,

Is there a version for high angle stems?

Well, you'll just have to buy a bike, ha ha.

But this external battery system is really going to be nice, especially for those living in colder climates. It will work with a high angle stem no problem, although you will probably want to redo your wind scaling factor once you get the new mount.

Any chance we could get a description on the features? Like how does it recharge? Is it easily moveable from bike to bike if you got extra stem cap mounts? Ect.

Thank you,
Rich

We're working on this and will be shipping it in January or February, in time to help with those cold rides.

Here are the salient features of our new iBike Wireless Rechargeable Mount:

1) This is a wireless mount, compatible with all ANT+ speed cadence and HR sensors.

2) The rechargeable mount uses the same battery and charger as the iDash rechargeable battery.

3) The mount powers your Gen I/II/III iBike. You should get about 300 hours of riding with the new mount between battery recharges.

4) When it's time to recharge the battery, remove it from the mount, charge it for a few hours, then replace. You're good to go for hundreds of hours of extra riding.

5) Short battery life in cold weather won't be a problem with the new mount.

6) The CR2032 battery in your Gen III stays in place, to keep your iBike clock working. This battery should last about one year between changes.

7) The rechargeable mount uses the same steer tube base as the iDash. So, you can swap quickly between your iDash (used on training days) and your Gen III (for racing). Or, with extra steer tube mounts you can move your rechargeable mount from bike to bike.

We will have pricing, availability, and pre-order information soon.

I just had an idea for this mount (or, well, the next gen of it). If you use a mini USB (now Euro standard for cell phones), you could use the mount as a way to connect your iBike to the computer as well. So you could charge it and and download rides, profiles, update firmware, ect., and charge it at the same time (just like my cell phone). Which I think would help the battery's life a bit as an added bonus. I love convergence. :D You guys probably already had this thought, but I thought I would throw it out there anyway.
