WLS_FAIL & other related(?) problems

For about the past 3 weeks I have been having all sorts of problems with my iAero. The unit seems ok at the beginning of a ride but after a period of time, maybe an hour or two, I either get:
i. lcd screen dimming as if the batteries are low but they can't be as I have regularly tried changing them when this happens, even tried changing all the batteries.
ii. WLS FAIL message
iii. Lo battery message
iv. unit stops working altogether.
Think I have had a couple of other strange things but can't remember them at the moment.
When I download the data some is ok but often it is rubbish. Instead of one ride file i seem to get multiple files.
I have a suspicion the problem may stem from sweat getting in between the mount and the unit. On a 2-3 occasions when removing the unit I have noticed moisture around the electrical contacts. On one occasion I couldn't download my data. I disconnected the iAero from the usb mount and noticed moisture which when wiped clean allow the data download to take place. Also during a ride I could only get the iAero to work when I wiped moisture from the same area.
The moisture is sweat because it hasn't rained on any of my rides for the past month (by the way we are in the middle of summer here in Adelaide and it gets pretty hot here). The unit is mounted on my bike stem and sweat certainly lands on it. Up until these probs surfaced I had used the unit for about 6 weeks without any of these issues. I suspect that may have been due to cooler weather and less sweating.
I found an earlier thread "sweat causing unit to blank out" by JR_70 discussing something similar but it turned out he had a "visible crack near the lens". Mine has no such problem.
During the process of elimination I tried all the standard things like hard reset, changing batteries and checking the iAero is mounted correctly.
Has anyone else had this problem? Should it be happening? Do I have to move the iAero (using a Topeak bar X'tender)? Surely the unit should be able to cope with this?
The continual hassle is getting annoying.
Thanks for any suggestion/help
Chris
