Auto-correcting tilt when riding with incorrect profile?

I went for a ride today and realized that my iBike had profiles for Bike 1 and Bike 2 loaded but I was on Bike 3. "No problem" thought I -- "switch profile after the ride". So I pedaled away and had a nice ride with pretty wacky power numbers, but I was comfortable in the knowledge that I could get the power numbers afterwards.
It occurred to me, though, that the Gen III tries to auto-correct tilt during the ride. So what was it doing during today's ride? Did it try to reconcile the tilt it was registering on Bike 3 with the tilt in Profile 1 (which is from Bike 1 and is definitely different from Bike 3)? Did riding with the iBike set to Profile 1 / Bike 1 while actually on a bike with a steeper stem cause the iBike to start accumulating and applyinig incorrect tilt data to what was a profile that previously worked very, very well for Bike 1?
Does such auto-correction apply only during the actual ride? Or is the data used to modify parameters that are stored from one ride to the next?
I really like the switch-profile-after-the-ride feature, but I don't want to introduce inaccurate tilt data that will throw my previously accurate profiles off.
What I would really like is for the iBike to hold 4 profiles. But for now I just need to understand what it does when you ride with the wrong profile. Thanks!
