Climbing: Sum of parts greater than the whole...

I am curious if I am missing something.
From a recent ride file, the climbing data from Isaac doesn't add up:
The "climbing" values that Isaac lists for the two "laps" actually add up to 1597, but Isaac only shows 1496 when viewing the entire ride info.
So, what am I missing?

"Lap 1" (the first part of the ride) = 901 ft
"Lap 2" (the second part) = 696
------------------------------------------------
the whole ride = 1496
