New message when uploading - "Did the rider draft?"

When I uploaded my afternoon ride today (an out and back) the iBike software asked me "did the rider draft 7% detected?" (pretty sure that was what the question was).

I answered NO since it was a solo ride. (It was a windy day).

What did the software see and why did it ask me this question?

Thanks,

Robert

Most of the questions you have been asking have been answered previously on this forum. Perhaps using a little foot work with the advanced search feature can resolve some of the issues you have. In this case take a look at the post 'ibike 4.03 released'

This is one of the new features of the auto route analysis. Since it can now detect out and back (even if you rode out, did a loop, and then rode back) we can look at other things involved in that ride. Windy days can trigger drafting but it's not going to change anything that much. You can also check the box that says "wind changed during ride".

If you don't want the auto route analysis to occur, you can change that in the preferences.

Boyd,

With this auto route analysis it looks like it's inserting laps at certain points. Yesterday it inserted a lap right in the middle of one of my hill repeats. Is this the way it's supposed to work?

How can I remove that lap (combine the 2 laps) so I can get an accurate measurements of that repeat?

Yes, you can remove any laps that you want. Also, if you don't have the file auto analyze, you can choose whether you want it to add laps or not.

Personally I choose to not have it add the laps because I am always doing user intervals so I have my own laps. Although if I am doing a circuit race, then sometimes I like to see them because it can break down the averages per lap. . .that's kind of cool to see.

I agree Boyd, did my first road race of the season on Saturday (a 7 mile lap) and the software inserted the laps at the top of the finishing climb, average power, speed etc for each of the laps. Made it kind of easy to look at these and recall "oh yes, it was the third lap when the hammer went down".
It is pretty cool. Also helped show the impact of jumping off the front for part of a lap, or working hard at the front of the bunch, compared to sitting in.

I don't like it so much for solo training rides.
