I can't get my iAero to ever pass its own tilt test. I'm using a level and I'm pretty sure I'm within 0.5degrees, but I keep spinning around in circles (turn 180... turn 180).
Is this a symptom of a bad battery -- I just got the iAero. Can someone help me?

You don't have to use a level with the iBike at all. The tilt calibration does electronic leveling automatically.
Make sure your mount cannot rotate on the handlebars or stem.
The iBike's accelerometer is extremely sensitive to motion. So, before starting the tilt calibration, slightly wedge your foot in front of the wheel, just enough so that the bike can't move forward or back. Make sure that the wedging action doesn't lift the rear wheel. Then, with both wheels on the ground, hold the bike upright, while pointing the front wheel straight ahead. Start the tilt calibration. When you turn the bike 180 degrees, do the same wedged-foot trick.
This should solve the problem.
If you still get "bad tilt" then try this test. Remove the iBike from your bike and set the iBike on a flat and firm surface, such as a kitchen counter top. Then, while pressing down on the iBike so it can't move at all, perform the tilt calibration, but DO NOT TURN THE UNIT AS INSTRUCTED. Click the button three times when instructed, without turning the unit. Make sure to hold the unit extremely still and don't let it wiggle even a little bit. You should get "good tilt" and 0.0% grade at the end of this test.

The iAero head unit didn't have a CR2032 in it. It was running simply off the mount's voltage, which I imagine is not enough to feed it properly. I sincerely apologise for this oversight.
Thanks for the help -- it did pass the tabletop tilt test, btw.

It takes a real man to admit to something like that! Now finish reading the manual before trying anything else with the iBike.

It's a real tribute to the robust electronics inside the iAero that it could even work with only the mount battery, I guess. It just goes to show that for every idiot-proof system, there's an even bigger idiot...
