Calibration procedure: SRM

Using the iBike Aero as a head unit for my SRM and just installed it on the bike today. HR monitor, Garmin cadence/speed monitor and SRM all paired successfully.
In reading the instructions for calibrating a DFPM (from "Gen III Pairing and Operating instructions for Ant+Sport DFPMs), my Aero's screens don't match what is in the instructions....
Step 5 says go to the screen that shows "PCAL/IDLE" and all I have is PCAL and a 0 (zero), it doesn't show "idle".
Step 6 says to press the up arrow of the iAero and I'll see "PCAL/START". I do see a really quick "start" when I follow step 6, but then the 0 immediately turns into a higher number which is apparently the calibration number from the SRM and it is flashing (in the case of today, flashing back and forth from 569 to 570) and I don't get the options in Step 7 (see below).
Step 7 states that if I press the center button of the iAero, I'll see a message "PCAL/PROC"....I don't. This step also says that I will see "PCAL/DONE" or "PCAL/FAIL" depending on the success/failure of the calibration process...I haven't seen either. I press the middle button while the number is flashing and I don't get anything for several pushes of the button, then it goes to the "WLS/CFG" screen. However, when I scroll through the menus to the PCAL screen again, I can see a calibration number on this screen -- 570.
So the big question is -- is the iAero working correctly and is this how the calibration process is supposed to work despite what the instructions state?
Also, at this point, if I only care about the power readings from the SRM (or my Powertap on my other bike), I don't have to do either the tilt and/or wind offset calibrations for initial set up or before every ride do I?
Thanks.
