You are seeing the wind speed that you are riding into.
If you see +2.0, that means you have a 2mph headwind
If it's a -2.0, then you have a 2mph tailwind

Can someone explain the arrow? sometimes it points forward, sometimes backwards? I noticed it both with positive and negative numbers.

When the arrow points up your current wind speed is above the average wind speed (so far) measured for your ride. When the arrow points down your current wind speed is below your average wind speed.

The arrow is useful in quite a few screens. It also indicates being above or below average on power and speed. So a quick glance puts you in the ball park without having to hit a button to get the actual average.

Unfortunately a side effect of the rapid development pace of the iBike product is that the documentation gets outdated really quickly. You do have to check the release notes for the latest firmware revision (found on the firmware download page) usually to find out about the latest features.

It's not perfect, but I'd rather have the features than have to wait for a user manual :D
