Mounting PowerPod on BMX bike pegs?

Post by FabioNR »

Dear support,

I have only a full-suspension MTB 29 wheels. Given the inevitable changes in position of the PowerPod installed on the handlebar, stem or whatever due to the very nature both front and rear suspensions, I was wondering if it's a good idea to install something like BMX pegs on the front shell and then mount the PowerPod on one of the pegs so that it doesn't change angle according to shock sag or normal operation of the front suspension.

Is the installation on BMX pegs a bad idea? I only use the PowerPod when riding on asfalt, training with specific power output. When really mountain biking, it's all about fun and friend and I don't care about watts (so my PowerPod will not get destroyed by rocks and branches.

What do you, specialists, say? From a more theoretical point of view, what's the best place on a full-suspension? On front wheel pegs? On the handlebar? Not much of a difference?

Tks.

Well, the truth is...we don't know what BMX "pegs" are!

Please post an image (or a reference) to this so we can comment with more intelligence.

I, for once, didn't know the name of that. But I knew BMX bikes have it so the rider can execute their tricks/stunts by stepping on them or for "grinding".

I attached an image is where I believe would be the best place to install PowerPod on any mountain bike (hardtail or full-suspension)

What do you guys think. Is distance from ground relevant?

Tks

You can give it a try, though I worry that PP will be pretty close to the ground. I'm not sure what wind conditions will be like down there.
