New Firmware ??

DO I have to do an O&B everytime I pair the device? I often change the HR monitor (one is a chest strap and the other one a helmet) and I repaired the device to recognize the different HR ID. In this particular case do I have to do and O&B every time I use a different HR monitor? It seems th...

Calibration of PP with a DFPM

Q1: In isaac you choose which DFPM to use, I do not see the Garmin Vector 3 in the list. Is this supported? Q2: searching in the forum there is a reply that mention the need of a CdA/TT key to be able to compare and calibrate the PP. The problem is that I do not find in the the Velocomp/shop that ke...

Power smoothing Dynamic versus 0 (zero)

Q. Is there any difference in the graphic showed by Isaac if Device Power Smoothing is setup <Dynamic> vs 0 (zero) or 3 sec for example? I do understand the effects of what I see in the Garmin 820 head unit. I know Ray like to set up PP to zero and do the smoothing in the head unit. My preference is...

PowerPod button-status light

Q1: is there any place where I can find all the options that occur pressing or holding the PP button? This is what I know: 1. To turn it on: awake sensors and tape it one time 2. To pair: awake sensors and press hold it for 4 seconds 3. To hard reset: press and hold it for 10 seconds 4. To turn it o...

Re: It's here: GPS for your Newton!

John, THANK YOU!. I got the two unlock keys for the PP's. Q: If I do not like it or decided not to use it, is there a way to remove the key from the firmware or any switch to turn off in such a way that disable the feature. It seems obvious that if I do not turn on the app that should do it but..you...

Re: O&B calibration ride question

John, Thank you that's what I did, I use the type of road I do most of the riding. I had a Crr 0.0060 which seems to be the default value for mixed asphalt and that is what I wanted. The frictional resistance went up as I updated my weight, which now includes my weight with clothes and shoes and the...

O&B calibration ride question

When you setup the O&B calibration ride one of the questions is what type of pavement the road has (eg smooth asphalt). Is the response the pavement where you do the O&B ride OR the usual type of surface you do most of the ride? Do I have to redo the ride IF what I did is not correct or I ca...

Re: What am I doing wrong?

#1. The fact that you see the speed sensor and cadence in your head unit yes it means that they are awake BUT, they must be awake BEFORE you press the PP button. If that happens just tap the PP button again so it can pair those units. One time after an stop I had the 0 watt power sign but I did not ...

CdA question

If CdA is left the same 1. Aero what is represents? Is is riders drag or frontal surface? 2. Wind scale? obviously will have to compensate for the change in Aero if you keep CdA constant but how does it show up? For example if I go downhill pedaling and I do not change my position as recorded in the...

O&B calibration ride

A major problem I had with the PP was a not clear description of a calibration ride/check calibration. My approach was to follow one of these approaches and then try to adjust it in the advance setup. A new O&B info sheet is posted in this site with precise and clear indications of how to setup ...

Re: How to perform and O&B ride?

1. To generate two files you have to stop riding for 20 minutes so the PP turn off automatically and it will generate 2 files after you wake up the sensor press the PP bottom and continue to ride. 2. You can download the whole thing then select the O&Back part of the ride / keep only the select ...

Re: Heart rate straps...

Question is: do I go Garmin again? Decathlon do HR straps, as do Wahoo. Anyone got any experience of these or even better more than one to compare? Even better still, with a PP? . A good alternative is a Helmet with a Heart Rate monitor. I have a Lazer Genesis Lifebeam. The benefits are: no need of...

1. For a calibration ride (not the initial calibration ride) can I load the file and then select part of it? like >select from 5 miles after start to 5 before finish. Re: Heart rate straps...

I assume you wash the chest strap often, remember sweat has electrolytes and those conduce electricity. Garmin recommends to put the strap in the washing machine (cold and delicate) of course without the sensor once in a while. I had a similar problem and it was corrected after machine washing. If y...

8 minutes automatic recalibration

I am new to the PowerPod but I have read almost every thread in this topic as well as the instruction pdf and I did not see something that came to mind when I was riding today. The PP does an 8 minutes automatic recalibration at the beginning of each ride or after a > 20 minutes stop. I do not know ...

Q1: What's the difference between profile 2 and profiles 1 3 4?
If I have a combo mount I supposed to use #2. Well I used #1 by mistake. Of course I can redoit.

Q2: If you have 2 bikes both with combo mounts which profiles do you choose?
