Lots of tube thingee issues
I'm a bit confused with this thing. The rubber plug into the iBike head unit doesn't stay in place, and I have it the right way, and it doesn't stay if its the wrong way anyway. It seems as though the torque inherent in the tube plastic is wrenching the tube out of the unit, and I am not trying to u...

Re: screen glare
[quote="Ratman"this is an issue that's worth some consideration. The sun reflection can be blinding (like looking into a flash bulb...).[/quote] I agree...in that the word "blinding," is being used in conjunction with riding a bicycle, I think some consideration is, in fact, wort...

screen glare
I dont know if its the slight change in location of the screen on the Gen III units but it seems as though the screen reflects the sun into my eyes all the time. I cant look at the screen in open sunlight and have to wait for shade. Has anyone else experienced this and what have you done to remedy? ...

Re: Oh No! I have a cracked case
Same here...I just noticed that my case is cracked. My mount died too, and this led me to inspect everything and I noticed the cracked case...perhaps the cracked case allowed water to get in and kill the mount.
What should I do...I have already emailed about the mount.

Re: Dead mount
I did the hard reset on the mount first and the unit later, just to eliminate all variables. The contacts look clean.
The only thing left I can think of is water damage from washing the bike. I'm gonna use a blow dryer on cool today and see if there is any water in there.

Dead mount
My wireless mount died for no apparent reason. By process of elimination using my other bikes, mounts, and sensors I eliminated everything else. I did battery changes on everything and had resets as well.
Are there any tricks I am missing?

Re: Gen III not recording
Wireless. I did hard reset and no luck. I installed new firmware and it solved the problem. Interestingly though, it appears that at the same time my profiles were erased and the trainer profile reset. I thought it was me overtrained too! When I installed the new firmware I noticed the trainer issue...

Gen III not recording
My Gen III isnt recording all of a sudden. At the end of the ride all the numbers are there but when I go to download the data the Ibike software reads 0% memory full and no rides are present in memory.

Re: Garmin Combined Speed/Cadence Sensor and iBike
I had this exact issue a few days ago. On ride LOS and when I jiggered around the magnets I got a signal back. When I lost it again a while later I realized....dead battery in the Garmin. That is what it was.

If so, how so? Im thinking that the rolling resistance issue would be too hard to overcome for reliable readings. Thoughts?

Looking to sell or trade my high angle stem mount
Used but perfect condition....I would trade for used low angle mount and pick up postage on both ends or sell for reasonable offer.

And still another com port failure!
I had a <-1> failure a few weeks ago and after reading here I concluded that it was my ibike usb connector so I bought another. The new connector worked properly for a couple of weeks and yesterday it failed again. It is the same <-1> failure and I cannot fix it. It fails the same way on several com...

4 mile ride and profile editing
Is it possible to add a 4 mile ride to a profile without doing any coast downs? See, I did a 15 mile out and back time trial yesterday and with the carless, marked and measured course I think it would be a perfect new 4 mile ride...only the software wont let me calculate it. Any recommendations?

Why is it so difficult to swap from bike to bike w/wireless?
I know the theory is that you can take the head unit from bike to bike to bike, but the practice is entirely different. If I dont switch profiles before the ride my head unit either doesnt pick up the signal from the G speeed/cad sensor or if it does it does randomly in the middle of the ride. Why h...

Proper Stem Mount Angle
I finally got around to taking a picture of my bike with the ibike on it and noticed (even more than in person) that the angle of my stem mount is pretty radical. Check out the pic and tell me if that is too far off...the riding slope doesnt seem to be out of whack. http://www.flickr.com/photos/9900...

Re: Tilt before every ride?
Perhaps coast down instructions should indicate that the rider should make an effort to put as little weight on the bars/hoods as possible. I will do so from now on.

Post ride indicators of improper tilt
I have been getting accumulated vertical gain readings above what I am expecting for my rides. This has been occurring for the past several weeks and I cannot figure out how to ascertain whether its the ibike setup wrong, or if Im just more impervious to the hills  Anyway, i have kept tire pres...

Re: Post ride adjustment and overall accuracy
Pre ride process is good. I zero wind each ride. I tilt calibrate 90% of the time as well. My profile consists of 8 coast downs, of which I disposed of 2, and an 8 mile out and back. It seems to me to be a good profile. I do not pump tires up to consistent pressure on each and every ride, but I am w...

Post ride adjustment and overall accuracy
As I posted earlier in regard to tne NaN readings when I download data post ride from my Iaero and run an analysis I am getting very different numbers. My during ride data might show avg. watts of 160, my pre-analysis download 152 and then when I run the analysis 182. Is this indicative of a bad pro...

Measuring Wheel friction drag and/or tire rolling resistance
Is it as simple as follows to do so? 1. On a given pair of wheels do a few coast downs, a 4 mile ride and set up a profile. 2. Use same tires on a 2nd pair of wheels and do the same coast downs and 4 mile ride, and set up another profile. 3. Compare friction resistance readings between the 2 profile...

Re: Multi-sport use
Would the forerunner 50 work? All I would need would be a wrist top way to chart HR during run legs of multi-sport races and at its very reasonable choice if it works with ibike it would seem to be the way to go.

Multi-sport use
Perhaps its possible now or perhaps a wish for the future, but multi-sport use of my Ibike would be very nice. Currently I will have to wear my Polar HRM and strap for the run portions of my duathlon events and forego HR on the bike. Are there either future plans to integrate other wrist HRM straps ...
