Re: Mount Newton as a Drive
Reminds me I was thinking in regards to new gadgets that will be coming to display Di2 gear selections that iBike could do that already for all systems, not just electronic.

Re: Download feature/bug fix
How much of a time hit is taken to load up the most recent ride file when opening Isaac?
Most times I just want to download my latest ride off the Newton so Isaac opening ideally would be snappier.

Ride/interval/selection distance: decimal places
Hi I only seem able to view distance to one decimal place. This isn't enough granularity when trying to analyze short selections. Eg If I wish to select 750m I want exactly that. NB I view in metric units (I see screen shots in the manual showing miles to two decimals?) I see in CSV output files tha...

Re: Download feature/bug fix
It would be nice, in my opinion, to be able to launch the "Download Ride List" direct from the main screen rather than having to go via the "Download Ride Data" screen. I virtually always only want to download a single ride and if I do want multiple it will still not be all rides...

Re: Software Won't Connect with Unit
I was unable to connect on the weekend when I was loading to two different profiles on my laptop. IE I 'switch user' on the laptop so that rides from each profile go to their own default directory for GC to upload from. Whilst Isaac was connected to one user I was unable to connect Newton to the oth...

Re: Software Won't Connect with Unit
You need to ensure your newton has not gone to sleep (which does not seem to be the case)
Also try clicking on the Device menu in Isaac as that worked for me on the weekend the one time I didn't seem to get a connection.

Re: Speed and Distance way off from Garmin
Cross-check with the gear ratio in the ride data. It should match your bike gearing if calcutated speed is correct. Eg my son on his road bike he gets either a gear ratio of 3.00 when in the 48x16 or 3.20 when in the 48x15 which confirms (650c) wheel at 1954mm is correct. If you have a 53/39 chainse...

Re: Powerstroke front/back diagram
To add to the above, I was thinking it might be useful to have some Powerstroke metrics added to the diplay to indicate left/right pedal efficiancy. Currently the split between forward/back and side-to-side is given as percentage but those could be further broken down to left & right pedal effic...

Ah - thanks for that link.

Re: Normal Power NP
I presume NP does not account for accumulated time? EG Putting out 200% FTP for 1 minute after an hour of 90% FTP is harder than the same effort after say doing the 200% effort first and then the 1hr @ 90%. In fact the 90% 1hr effort would get progressively harder towards the end, and yet TSS for sa...

Re: Senor and display issues/questions
^ In relation to the above, am I correct that if you have the filter set to x seconds, that the 'max' power shown via totals will be the max x second ave power?
I seem to see different maximum values shown when I upload to Isaac and then to Golden Cheetah, and thought that would explain it.

Re: Senor and display issues/questions
From the Newton manual: SPECIAL FEATURE: Setting Display Filtering Time Power measurement is extremely sensitive, so much so that your watts can vary considerably even within a pedal stroke. Thus, wattage measurements can be jumpy. The Newton includes a “filter” that smooths out wattage numbers disp...

Isn't the difference the inclusion of the 'CDA Key' and also the 'indoor trainer' firmware in the Newton PowerStroke+ ? I'm after some clarity on this in the CDA description: "NOTE: NEWTON+ AND NEWTON POWERSTROKE+ PRODUCTS SHIP WITH THE CDA KEY PRE-INSTALLED AT THE FACTORY" I cannot see Ne...

Re: Cda Questions
Hi All (1st post) I have a query hopefully related enough to use this thread... (About to purchase a Newton but looking to gain some confidence first via questions) If I update a profile to change my weight, which may have changed over time, will my previous rides with the same profile be re-calculate...
