PowerPod should be able to stand up to mud and dust.
If the wind port gets really dirty then you can rinse it with some water, then wipe it clean afterwards. Use a Q-Tip if you wish...
Same thing for the USB port.

Re: powerpod battery power level
Whenever you attach PowerPod to a USB charging device, PowerPod will flash red whenever it is charging. When fully charged the red flashing light will go out. PowerPod will operate for about 20 hours of riding when starting from a fully charged battery. Note that even when asleep PowerPod will use s...

Re: No Power Displayed or Recorded
Hmm...it looks like the tabs on your PowerPod have been scraped down. That would have the effect of making the the tabs thinner, making it more difficult to compress the tabs in the mount, etc.
I honestly don't understand what would cause this problem.

Re: No Power Displayed or Recorded
Thanks for your ideas! Now that we have our first-production run behind us we will see if we can tighten-up tolerances a little bit. I'm finding that with my unit, which I take on and off the bike almost daily, that I get good consistency, as long as I am careful to put the PP back in the same posit...

Re: No Power Displayed or Recorded
Please provide a photo showing your PowerPod attached to your bike, with the attachment bolt. When you reattach PowerPod to its mount it is very important to rotate it into the same position where it was previously. If it is rotated into a different position then it will take up to 8 minutes for the...

Garmin will default to GPS speed when it is not working properly with the speed sensor.
Try moving your speed sensor to the front wheel; that should help!

The answer is shown in your picture. Notice that there are some notches in the speed readings... In fact, your speed sensor is not working properly. Here is same data, with no filtering: Screen Shot 2016-03-05 at 5.59.01 AM.png Make sure your speed sensor is properly located and that the magnet pass...

Re: Powepod 2nd Profile for MTB
Funny you should ask...we just answered this question yesterday for another customer! Here is the answer: PowerPod is shipped with profile 1 active. Thus all information from your initial setup, including sensors and calibration, is stored in profile 1. If you want to use PowerPod with more than pro...

Re: Multiple Newton/users
I have at least 4 Velocomp products in use at any given time, and I have only one computer for all of them... :-) You can download your Newton files into Isaac. At the beginning of each download Isaac will give you the opportunity to name the files, so just name the file for the person whose Newton ...

Re: Newton Tracker
Actually, this is an interesting question! Most likely you're using a Garmin or other GPS bike computer. If so then you can merge your Garmin .gpx files into your PowerPod .ibr files; no smartphone is required. We haven't enabled the Newton Tracker feature in PowerPod, because NT is redundant with t...

Re: Some problems
OK, if you are using Isaac and comparing it to your Garmin Connect then please post the .ibr file where you are seeing the difference. Set your Garmin to the shortest averaging period possible (3 seconds I think) and you will have more immediate response. Your Garmin is delaying the values reported ...

OK, I think you are saying you are seeing a 10W gap between two entities that are reporting watts.
The question is: what are the two things from which you are seeing the difference?

Re: Start of ride wrong.
Yeah, I agree your Newton was a bit confused at the beginning of this ride. If you wish you can do a Hard Reset. You may get odd watts for the first 8 minutes of your next ride, but then hopefully things will settle down. At the end of each ride do a Trip Reset to save the settings from the finish o...

Re: Start of ride wrong.
Your tilt calibration was way out of whack at the beginning of the ride, and the Newton took 8 minutes to fix it.
I put the cursor at the 8 min mark, then used the command below to delete the first 8 minutes of the ride. After that everything is fine.

Your Velcro idea is nice.
Nope, moving the bike out of the shed won't do anything, as long as the crank is not turning.

Re: Power data seemed wrong for approx first 10mins
When you reattach PowerPod to its mount it needs to be in EXACTLY the same position. If it's not then it will take about 8 minutes for it to automatically recalibrate itself. You see this happening in the green line over the first 8 minutes. This is normal behavior; your PowerPod is working perfectly!

Re: stages pm with newton
Yes, doing a Scan of ANT+ sensors will automatically find the Stages (or other) DFPM. After a Scan, by default the Newton displays the DFPM readings ("On dFP diSP"--DFPM display is on). If you prefer to display the Newton power readings on your screen, then enter Setup (press-hold the cent...

Re: Powerpod and ovalised chainrings
Your hunch is correct. PowerPod measures opposing forces, so it doesn't have the problem of trying to interpret torque measurements. It does not over-report watts when used with oval chainrings.
