Electronics and water don't mix. Unfortunately I think your sensor is gone.

The fact that you got the same results means that your first calibrations are good

Re: Switching Ibike Mounts
All is well. That's quite a roller coaster of a Cal Ride route you have! There was very little wind the day you did your ride (a good thing) and you did 9 coast downs, too, immediately after the Cal Ride. Just what the instructions ask... :D Wind Scaling and Ride Tilt are completely normal for the (...

Re: iSport GT query
If you purchase the USB Adapter you will be able to do iSport upgrades with the free iBike software. Your iSport will not be able to download rides.
If, later on, you decide to upgrade to an iPro please email us so we can provide you an additional discount on the iSport-iPro upgrade.

Re: Variable Aero & Gradient %: ??Mounting Position??
Overall your iBike is working very nicely. On the flats, by definition slope hovers around zero and one might think that the iBike slope data would always be close to zero. This is not the case. First, and very importantly, there is no such thing as a flat road. There are minor variations in road gr...

Re: Switching Ibike Mounts
No, it is much more about WHERE the mount is located with respect to the incoming wind, as opposed to at WHAT the iBike angle is with respect to level. The image I use all the time is the sleek car ads where they show the aerodynamic steamlines going over the top of the car. If you're in direct line...

Re: Switching Ibike Mounts
Yes, very much so. Although you might think there is little difference between locations, in fact the stem mount will give you a MUCH different calibration for wind than the handlebar mount. For example, on my bike I have both a stem mount and a handlebar mount (OK, I test more than one iBike at a t...

In the iSport there is no ride recording capability; therefore, there is no ride erase command nor recording interval command.

Re: Calibration doesn't seem right
For a total weight of 216 your fric number of 13.9 is reasonable. When the iBike is mounted on the handlebars the aero number can be higher than 1.0. When the iBike is mounted on the stem the aero number will generally be less than 0.6 In your case, even if your iBike is on the handlebars, an aero f...

During a Cal Ride cadence data is not recorded. You'll find your cadence is recorded during a "normal" ride.

You're correct that it is not a good idea to pull on or twist the wire. That statement is true of almost anything electrical.

If you have the Garmin speed/cadence sensor, AND the GT firmware installed in your iBike, then you'll see cadence from the Garmin sensor.

Re: 4 cal rides with 4 different results
The three cal rides you did on the same stretch of road (May 6 and 7) are pleasingly consistent. The data from your 5/2 ride was on a different stretch of road and was done in a tailwind (see previous post) so I did not use it. The 2 mile Cal Ride is designed to provide a reasonable compromise betwe...

Re: Racing in a tri w/ an Ibike
Good comments. Some responses are in order: 1) For long distance triathlons, as a precaution I'd put in new batteries in the mount and iBike the day of the race (make sure to reset the time in your iBike). With two new batteries you'll easily get 5-8 hours of riding, even in sub-50F weather. Our Foo...

Yes, you can use your iBike with a wired and wireless mount, and it is easy to do. Here's what to do: 1) Go in to setup and click the down arrow until you come to "Set Prof". Click the center button. Most likely it will say "Prof 1". Click the center button again to accept. Your ...

Re: Garmin GSC-10 v. iBike Sensors
As this thread says, Garmin owns the ANT+ technology. The GSC-10 combined speed/cadence sensor is manufactured specifically for Garmin. It uses a specific "Channel" for its broadcasts. Let's call it channel 4 The iBike speed and cadence sensors are manufactured by a different company and u...

Re: Drafting question
Here's how it works: 1) The software compares wind speed to bike speed at each point of the ride 2) From our experience at looking at hundreds of group ride files, we know that whenever bike speed is above 15 mph and whenever wind speed is 65% or less than bike speed, then the rider is drafting. 3) ...

Re: My latest profile, is it right?????
0.0056 is fine. This is a good number for average road conditions and tires. One of the things I'm trying to express in this thread is that getting accurate readings from the iBike is much easier now because of firmware changes, better microprocessor and electronics in the Gen III, and improved user...

This is a really good chance to demonstrate just how good the "Est CdA" feature is. I emailed Clint and asked him his height and body weight. Based on his answers, the Est CdA feature in the Fast Start menus would have returned a value of CdA on the hoods of 0.352. As you can see from his ...

Re: Drafting question
I always pay a bit of attention to the wind.
A sufficiently strong tail wind can cause the drafting box to appear.
If you say "No" then there is no change to your wind data.
