Re: Analyze Route?
The "check calibration" feature is intended only for use with short, out and back rides. This ride was 51 miles long. On a ride as long as this, you aren't really doing an out-and-back, and it is too long to assure that wind speed has not changed. I would not use this feature on long ride...

Re: Analyze Route?
More correctly I should say the phenomenon occurs regularly on harder, longer rides, not easy days where the difference is 5% or less. Here's a recent day with an 11% change from the original download to the attached analyzed file. But my question is as much about when this particular analysis shoul...

Analyze Route?
When I do this I always get a 10 to 20% change in average and normalized watts, plus other related changes. Just wondering what this function really does and if it should be used all the time or just in certain situations. What am I to trust, on ride data (unanalyzed) or after Isaac manipulation? Is...

Re: Frustrating weekend with Newton
Following the procedure I successfully loaded the Road Bike profile to Newton, and it's not asking me to do a Cal Ride! I couldn't import the TT Bike profile to Isaac because when attempting to Isaac gave me the message: "The following profiles were not added because they match existing profile...

Re: Frustrating weekend with Newton
OK, here is what I think is going on: Assuming these are your only two bikes , here is what to do: I have 4 bikes each with a profile stored in the Newton. The last time Newton asked me to do a Cal Ride, yesterday, after I had just done a Cal ride for that profile, "soloist", I checked th...

Re: Frustrating weekend with Newton
I did another Cal ride for the road bike in question, then did a short regular ride out and back, Then did a "check Calibration" on the cal ride, it was tweaked just a bit, saved and reloaded to the Newton. Now that profile is telling me to do another Cal Ride! Again. It's attached here.

Re: Frustrating weekend with Newton
The "road bike" profile is the one that got lost after the data reset then required another Cal Ride when reloaded.

Re: Frustrating weekend with Newton
This first is from the bike who's profile disappeared from the Newton after the data reset during this weekends TT, the second from the TT bike
Thanks,

Frustrating weekend with Newton
Yesterday I was in a TT and pushed the center button to change screens, my finger also hit the left button, but none of the others, and the Newton did a data reset and consequently I lost my power average for the part of the race already covered. Got home and downloaded the files and as it frequentl...

Re: Found New Ids
Here are a recent ride and a profile for that ride, and one which frequently gives me the message about finding new IDs, although I can't remember if this particular ride asked that question. In another thread I had asked about a HR strap problem I was having, I'm wondering if these two issues are r...

Re: Heart Rate Fail - Solved (sort of)
Turns out it was a battery door failure. Looks like there were two little, and I mean very little, flanges on the battery cover that when the cover is rotated engage the HR monitor body and hold the cover and battery firmly in place. Both had broken. While this seems like it should have been obvious...

Re: Found New Ids
I save it everytime but it keeps coming back, over 50% of downloads flash this message. No change in profile, hardware, anything between rides.

Found New Ids
Just about everytime I download a ride file Isaac gives me a message to the effect "Found new Device IDs, do you want to save?". But I use the same bikes with the same spd/cdance sensors all the time, so I don't understand why I'm seeing this message. Happens 75% of the time.

Heart Rate Fail
Yesterday and today HR was reading OK at the start of the ride but a few minutes in I got Heart Rate Fail, SPD/Cadence sensor was fine. Tried rescanning several times but the Newton never found the HR again. Before today's ride I our in a new battery and maybe the HR readings lasted 4 or 5 minutes l...

Were you really pedaling into a 60 mph wind? Do a Wind calibration.

Re: Slope issue
When you say rotate the Newton I guess you're asking if the mount rotates, which it doesn't. It's a TT mount attached to the aerobars, so any rotation would be left/right rather than forward/back. While firmly secured it does have a slight tilt to the left that I gave up trying to adjust out when in...

Slope issue
Not sure if this should be here or in the Newton Setup forum... Moved the Newton (FW5) to a new bike yesterday and did a Calibration ride, looked like it completed successfully. Then started from my usual place and immediately noticed it was showing 0 watts. Checked the slope and it said I was desce...
