Re: We have a new GPS Tracker server

Is it working today? Two cycles today didn’t upload so I logged out thinking relogging in might sort it. Password recovery using Isaac is down also.

Re: Aeropod/GPS plan

Pity. Most phones these days are too big to go on handlebars. Having regular audio updates would allow people to not buy an additional expensive headunit & just use the phone they already have. I’ve experienced audio updates using a now discontinued product; 4iiii’s Sportiiii. It also had optica...

Re: Strava Sync

Thanks! I forgot to mention that my swimming device uploads to strava after pool swims. You could argue the computer used its wifi to determine location and then uploads a static value. The swim device definitely doesn’t.

Strava Sync

Like lots of people I don’t just cycle so I like a repository with a mix of bike, run and swimming. Strava is what I use, as it is free and connects to so much else. The current Isaac Software doesn’t automatically sync to Strava and says something about needing gps data. TrainerRoad, Sufferfest etc...

Re: CRR variation: unidirectional or bidirectional?

Ok, thanks for letting me know it is unidirectional. I don’t think I can go back and change the setting now… any idea what number I should set it to for a smooth road? The tyres are cheap commuter lightly treaded 28mm ones. When I look up values on-line it always seems to be for good tyres that are ...

CRR variation: unidirectional or bidirectional?

As regards the firmware update with the variable CRR: does it just go up from baseline or can it go both ways? My use case is that I cycle often on the towpath by a canal and many of the roads are rubbish, so when I was writing up the bike I put the lower setting. From memory it was ‘bad asphalt’ or...

What are the plans about audio announcements in the free ride in your new app? I have bone conduction headphones. Not too pleased about seeing the data if I get audio updates. Thanks again.

Hi, apologies for the slow reply. I forgot I didn’t get follow up notifications.

Yes, I’m still using the iOS version. Used it today in-Fact. Oddly didn’t upload to your server today or yesterday, but guessed that was a gremlin in your server.

Re: Aeropod/GPS plan

I downloaded the app. It then asks to use GPS. Odd there is no warning in the App Store. Not clear what ‘while using’ and ‘always’ in settings makes. Also not clear if the GPS data it collects is sent to Isaac. With the tracker app I turn the screen off and put it in my pocket. The audio feedback so...

Aeropod/GPS plan

I was thinking of upgrading to an AeroPod. I have the Newton track currently. If I look at the new App for the AeroPod I see maps, although there is no GPS battery warning.

What are the plans with GPS & the new AeroPod?

Re: How do I get more efficient?

I would like it if there was more detail about how the wasted energy is calculated. For forwards/backwards oscillations you can calculate energy loss due to high peak velocities using standard formulas. How they calculate sideways energy losses I have no idea. There will be a bit of air being pushed...

Newton/powerpod Connect IQ update

You also said the hardware was sufficiently similar for powerpod and newton you might release it for b...

Google Earth

I haven’t used this much since I moved somewhere flat, but have now noticed google earth has gone Chrome based. My laptop is too old to run the new version, so I’ve downloaded a legacy version. The link from Newton doesn’t work though. I just get an empty page now. It did used to work and I got the ...

Plan about update on iOS?

Hi,

I just got a warning saying that the 'developer' needs to update the Newton Tracker app so it works on the *next* version of iOS.

Are you planning on updating the iOS app or should everyone who uses the app not upgrade?

thanks, eerke

Re: How do you use the advanced capabilities of Isaac + Velo

Ps. ThisisANT.com sent out an email a couple of weeks ago mentioning changes to the ANT Power profile; it now allows higher frequency updates of power as an option in the power-meter profile. Most power meters can't do this, as their firmware is not updateable; you are at an advantage with your alre...

Re: powerstroke I've not looked at many of things you mention, but have you considered what happens to wobble as a cyclist nears FTP? I have collected data on rollers (excludes many other factors) that shows I wobble more when I am near FTP than at endurance power zones. If you look at your own powe...

Re: Accuracy of Watts vs other PM

As regards your last 70.3 I have corrected for the difference in our weights (I weigh 10Kg more), which gives 291W and this doesn't sound unreasonable for what I'd expect for a 2:35. Maybe 10-15W higher, but I have gradually worked my way to a fairly extreme position. Doing the same to your friend's...

Re: Angle of Newton using RWS

Thanks. As you can tell from me getting roll and rotation the wrong way, I don't know the system very well either. I hadn't really thought about yaw at all. I'm not sure I can think how it would work with being able to read it. It's actually very helpful to know about the pitch. My aerobar extension...

Angle of Newton using RWS

Hi I've moved my TT bars around a bit and an trying to decide on the best position for the Newton. I use the Remote Wind Sensor so don't need the Newton to stick out into the air. I am thinking of having it between the two bars, but I have then close together. So, I'd like to rotate it. I'd also lik...

Re: TT Aerobars + PowerPod

I am still fiddling with the position on a TT bike, in my case a Newton, which is why I read this post. One thing that struck me about your post was the bottle between your arms, as I also do this and have solved that bit. I use a stem with bottle mounting holes. This frees up more of the TT bars. I...

Saying that I've had a few goes at it and not figured out how to play more than two tracks. I've tried selecting multiple tracks from both one album and from two albums. I've also tried selecting a whole album, rather than songs from an album. Playing music from an internet radio app or the music Ap...
