Re: Help with settings
Just a random thought ... Perhaps sometimes when riding, following a HARD hit into pothole, the PP may not move, but the handlebars may move/rotate ... depending on where the hands/weight of the rider were/was at the time.. Essentially, the PP will then still be "rotated" in a different an...

PP windport and rain
Hello John, Is it true that there's a paper sensor in the PP, and that if it gets wet - either slightly or soggy - it won't be able to reliably calculate certain power-related metrics ever again, hence rendering it innaccurate or useless - even after it has completely dried out? If so, would you rec...

Re: Calibration - how to come to?
Hi John, Similarly - I just received my powerpod back after a usb slot repair and battery fix. So I figured I'd re calibrate it. Pair it too, bc it wasnt showing up on my Garmin 1000.. No success - as I frustatingly followed the online instructions. However - I just read your reply to the OP who was...

Re: PowerPod inconsistent measurements
I'm sure all the variousvpotential different scenarios that PP is being played through - were likely never on the original designers' minds, and now likely consistently baffles them and John!

Re: Speed Displayed/Recorded at Twice the Actual
Hmm.
I dont think the Edge 1000 will get speed (very) wrong, as it can simultaneously rely on the remote sensors - either magnetless or w magnets.
I hve a 1000, w magnetless sensors.
Speed is bang on previse, compared to another on-board old-fashioned bike computer.

PP usb port finicky, drops computer connection repeatedly
My Powerpod's usb connector port seems extremely finicky. I can hear the Window's usb connect/disconnect alert repeatedly when it's attached to the computer - regardless of the usb port used on computer. To connect to Issac, I'm obliged to repeatedly try pressing the PP button, change usb ports on c...

Re: What am I doing wrong?
Helpful answer speedyvelo. Thank you Velocomp; I think part of the challenge for new and not so new users of PP, is the lack of ease in finding some of these basic answers / solutions to many questions asked - in the instructions or the PP FAQs available on website. (E.g. My battery charge question)...

Re: battery charge level?
Q/ 1. Re. 20hrs. If I charge the Powerpod fully, then ride for 5 hrs over 2 days. Then don't ride for 10 days, bc of poor weather ... will there still be approx 15 hrs charge left on it ... when I go out riding on the 11th day - on a 10hr brevet? Or will it have slowly discharged by then? 2. Basical...

Water and/or humidity and Powerpod
Q/ Am I being overly cautious by removing my Powerpod from my handlebar when rain is forecast and I have a group ride coming up, or alternately when washing my bike? It's because I prefer to (re)move it as little as possible from its mount (if possible)! Will water contact risk screwing up the Power...

Re: Cda Adjustment for different positions
I agree. Interesting questions indeed! Additionally though, let's not forget - for many (or most) cyclists there will likely eventually be a tradeoff between (short vs long-term) maximum aero position / speed / power / stability ... vs. maximum capacity to breath efficiently / recruit cycling-specif...

Re: Question re. "Recalibration"
Thanks John, I'll simply get an extra long usb connection cable and charge/hook up the Powerpod to a laptop computer near the bike rack. That way , no repeated on/off with the mount. I think I will try another out and back eventually, when the winds are closer to zero, since it was moderately windy ...

Re: New Power Pod user/ checks
i have the power smoothing set to dynamic and then on my garmin i have a 3 sec average display, On my Powerpod I also am using Dynamic power smoothing; however on my Garmin (1000), I found that 3 second power averaging was too frustatingly slow to respond (especially to sprints). I just used the &q...

Question re. "Recalibration"
Hi John New user. Setup: Powerpod Ant+ version. Garmin 1000 edge head unit to display power. Magnetless garmin rpm and speed sensors. Reading through many posts on this and DCR's website re the PP - If I understand correctly - PP is constantly recalibrating itself during the ~ first 8 minutes of eve...

Re: Strava and PowerPod
Any chance, of a legacy version of the powerhouse that can tap into ant+ I have a galaxy note that could easily use ant+ Would be nice to have the option for us ant+ only Powerpod folks. As a Samsung Note 3 Android phone user (with integrated Ant+ capabilities) and owner of a Powerpod with only Ant...
