Front/Back Motion and Slosh
This is a silly nerdy question... I run two tall bottles on my frame. I have the impression that it might make a Tilt difference in how I drink bottles empty. On rides where I drink first the front bottle and then the back bottle (I don't switch front to back when empty), my Analysis Tilt Chart seem...

Low battery on the Garmin gsc-10 will show cadence but no speed. Battery can fail overnight if left with the magnets over the gsc-10 sensors.Lobo wrote:... no speed or watts would display. HR and cadence did.

Re: Scan for sensors
As long as you make sure to tighten your Newton on to your mount, water won't leak into the USB port (we've tested this!). So, I would not worry about replacing the cover; you can rip it off if you wish. I have an intact USB port cover (which can be hard to open with short finger nails). Today's ri...

Re: Cadence data sent out under the umbrella of GT key?
No. GT enables iBike power sending information. It has nothing to do with cadence. I disagree! I have had a low-voltage gsc-10 which would detect cadence but not speed. This is a known result of gsc-10 low battery where the gsc-10 will continue to report cadence but fail on speed. I set my Edge 500...

Re: iBike import to Strava not grouping with other riders
As long as you don't have any issues collecting power data on the ride, the 500 FIT file will work just fine. IF you happen to see a big change post analysis for whatever reason then you would want the iBike data. That said, it's not like you're using Strava for detailed analysis so the FIT file sh...

I got a LabView Mem Full Fault with Isaac 2.1.3 and Newton 4.03 today on upload from my Newton after a 70 mile ride with Newton memory at 16% capacity. There were two "rides" selected on the Newton for upload. The first was a zero distance ride caused by Newton 4.03 elevation set from Setu...

To be honest - in this file you can´t see it very well, that my watts went up in the tailwind sections ... strange - during the right it looked different... racerfern and I have had issues with the Newton showing different values than post-ride Isaac shows. Re: iBike import to Strava not grouping with other riders
For the past several weeks I have found the quality of Strava finding/matching fellow riders has been decreasing. This is especially true for riders commuting to a common start point and commuting home from a common end point - but the ride itself will fail to match as it once did. Strava has also b...

Re: Smoothing Settings on Newton and Average Speed
This has to do with how much time passes between when the cyclist stops pedaling and when the elapsed time counters stop accumulating. Apparently, the Garmin is different from us. Yet - Isaac agrees with the Garmin. I.e. Isaac post-ride differs from the Newton. I show this in the image above. This ...

Re: Smoothing Settings on Newton and Average Speed
With the latest firmware (4.0) and Isaac (2.1.0) loaded for today's short 13 mile O&B ride, there is still a variance between what Newton reports and the reporting by Isaac and Garmin Edge for average speed (0.1 mph less on the Newton).Velocomp wrote:We will take a look at this

Smoothing Settings on Newton and Average Speed
Since the latest Newton firmware upgrade, I have noticed that the Newton reports a lower Average Speed then my Garmin Edge 500. Both devices are measuring distance and cadence using a gsc-10 and both have wheel size set to 2096mm. Newton was set to a smoothing of 5 and the Edge has autopause set to ...

Re: Odometer comes up short after stops
All magnet triggered odometers require a pass of the magnet over the sensor to assume a wheel revolution. So how to treat a stopped condition and then a restart? Many cyclometers simply treat a magnet pass as a magnet pass and add it to the accumulated distance. Whereas many bike computers instead t...

Isaac 1.0.10 Lap window scroll
On import from Newton, Isaac 1.0.10 now scrolls the lap window (left lower pane) so Lap data is not displayed.
Seems like it does a Page Down/End. To correct it and see laps, you have to scroll the window to top.
Minor problem but annoying.

For a little test I compared a Strava Garmin 500 .fit upload to iBike exported .csv and .tcx uploads. Note the .fit was merged by Isaac with my Newton iBike data. The .fit start time reflects starting the Garmin before the Newton. I normally upload only Garmin to Strava. Edge 500 .fit - started @ 9:...

The rechargeable 2032's hit 4.2V on full charge. When they are at the "nominal" 3.3V they are almost discharged and are essentially drained at 3.0V. In winter cold weather the indoors +4V becomes effectively 3.6V. As recerfern says, no reason to use rechargeables in HR straps as a CR2032 w...
