Re: incorrect temperature reading
I actually did do a freezer check and recalibration of the unit, but what occurred during the ride was the temperature was stuck too high. It will go lower but for some reason on this ride it was just wrong. Regularly when I ride it is warmer but that is the situation up here right now. When the roa...

incorrect temperature reading
I went out for ride yesterday and the outside temperature was (minus) - 5 to -6 deg celsius. However the Newton recorded (plus) 5 to 6 deg celsius? I took into account stabilization and that can not be the cause so what was going on? Do I need to adjust the temperature off set? I assume mathematical...

Re: upload failure android app
Hi Travis, another question on Tracker, if you are unable to upload a file because you do not have either cell or wifi connections, do the files stay put on the phone until you get a chance to up load? As well I assume the amount of data that can be stored is dependant on phone memory capacity. I am...

upload failure android app
I did a ride a couple of days ago and it looks like the app worked but for some reason it has not been able to up load the file? it is still trying to up load 2 days later and keeps on failing. Up until now it might fail on first try after a ride but always worked this time no GPS... any sugge...

Re: Newton Tracker comments and response
thanks John that would really make Isaac and tracker work somewhat similar to Sport tracks which is a great way to visualize where things happen on the map. Since obviously it is partially implemented when you merge into Isaac I hope it is something that can be brought forward as a side window/ popu...

Re: Newton Tracker comments and response
one question regarding the GPS track you can see when you merge the tracker file to the Isaac software file. This is a fairly rudimentary track but if in some way it could be a window/ pop up that might be a cool option for looking at data on isaac and relating it to a specific point on the route? J...

way to compare one leg to the other
I have been looking at the sample file for power stroke and note you can pick the option show data with leg which shows just the down stroke aspect of the leg. What I think would be very helpful is if you could have a click box that allows the ability to overlay red/ right on blue/left. The way they...

that sounds good, but I think the phone I have available is a windows platform, so I assume that is not applicable yet. Is there any thoughts towards a windows app as well as the apple and android?racerfern wrote:Works perfectly with WiFi on my Android.

Re: iBike Newton data management
hmmm, I guess I have not had or at least not recognised that problem, until maybe this last weekend, it was recording data and for some reason was not separating the daily rides so I seem to have lost data, but that could have been also because I did not reset at the end of each day? Garmin 305 does...

Re: Spotted at Eurobike
actually this could be a nice bar mount if the extension was a bit longer, similar to the barfly mount for the Garmin units that put the unit out in front of the stem. Any chance that you might consider this option as well? Maybe a way to change the extension from short for TT and long for out front...

Re: iBike Newton data management
The point in my mind is that it is a no brainer with the garmin memory management system... you do not have to choose and it maintains the latest data always and the oldest gets erased. So instead of having to choose to delete after download or manually erasing data, it simply trudges on year after ...

Sorry to hear it has to be that far down the line but anyhow nice to hear you may consider this option. Because obviously I do not know your firmware and data management issues I thought it might be a simple firmware update, drat!

iBike Newton data management
Hi Guys, just wondering if there is a technical reason that iBike does not have an internal data management protocol in the Newton similar to the Garmin 305 (that is the one I know about), I also have an old datalogger I use in my work that has the same option, I check a box whether I want it to sto...

Re: Y-axis scaling in Issac is absurdly implemented
It took a couple of tries to get what you mean, but then I got it, you cursor over the limit you wish to change with your mouse, as in a text program you highlight it, then you type in the number you want and preto rescaled! Good one nice to see this.

Re: real time display
thanks for the reply, that is great to hear. Is it possible to enhance the Isaac software to show left right balance? it certainly looks to be there if you look at the proportion of time that the motion spends in the left right side of center. I would think that more forward motion indicates more fo...

real time display
Hi velocomp folk, do you think it will be possible to have a real time display of right left balance on the Newton using power stroke? I am thinking that if you repurpose the power bar you could center it for perfect balance and the proportion of left to right leg imbalance could be the bar moving i...

change profile after ride
when I try this function I find that it changes some items like friction but it does not seem to change the weight? Re: FTP - Average or Normalised Power?
Another very good option is Golden Cheetah. I have the Sport tracks and Training load add on but I prefer Golden Cheetah. The GC documentation isn't that great but it has all kinds of great features, one of which is the CP curve, also known as the peak power curve or mean maximal power curve. It has...

well in my locale, the temperature on a ride can change 5 deg C, yesterday I started at 10-12, dropped to 5 in a valley :o then back to 11 or so. It was early morning 6Am and the cold air had settled in valleys.... so I just accept that there may be some offset that is not 100%. I don't think the ne...

Isaac v2.1.4 update but not FW 4.06?
I updated SW v 2.1.4 which told me it was to work with FW v 4.06 but the firmware update does not load 4.06 I assume this is a just a matter of the fw availability? You guys must be like a little bee hive working n the HW/ SW/ FW. Keep up the GOOD work.

Re: Crazy high power on descents
well this is interesting in that you seem to have a high wind scale and a high aero number etc and it would be interesting to hear from someone with more experience. On the other hand there is a reason for high power numbers going down hill. When you increase your speed the amount of power to over c...

changing CDA number in file
HI all, I have noticed that when I open up a CSV file I see the CdA value changing from the one that was in the cal file. for instance below is a cut from a file where CdA gos from 0.3493 up to 0.524 then back to set value. This is very intriguing but I am curious why this happens. i know it makes n...

Re: could this be a blocked wind sensor?
well with the Garmin it is hard to say, since it does take the reading from the wheel magnet but also takes the cadence from the unit so it does baffle me, but I suspect if there is a problem with the wheel magnet the Garmin would default to GPs speed. Sill troubling, I checked the battery and it wa...

could this be a blocked wind sensor?
very strange ride. This morning i rode to work 25 km all was well with my Newton. Then this afternoon I started home basically the same distance but there was a very (and I stress very) light rain, large rain drops once in a while. At the very start the ride looked OK, then it went crazy, the speed ...
