Stuff in here for MTBr's?
Hello. I use my iBike on my mountain bike, as I didn't get a road bike again until just recently. I understand an iBike isn't going to be at it's best in off road use due to suspension and varying terrain (ie. constantly changing rolling resistance) but I also see many other power meters aren't nece...

Re: Windows Phone
Well, that's a bummer but if I can download gps data for free then that's a fair pay off. I use MapMyRide, and I am pretty sure I can export the .tcx file from there When I get my new Newton. It won't be right away but hopefully sooner rather than later. In the mean time my old iSport is keeping me ...

How many bike profiles for Newton PS and Issac
I have looked and looked, and I just can't find how many different bike profiles Issac can hold. Also, The standard Newton can hold 4 bike profiles, with its bigger memory can the Newton PS hold even more, or is it still 4? Clearly 4 is a lot, but I got a good job and the stable is expanding steadily.

Re: New Front Mount
Is this a recommended item for bikes that see a lot of rough dirt roads? Or is they worry of rough roads messing with the data a thing of the past with the Newton? Thank you.

Re: iSport and Issac
Hello, Just a bit of an update. I have only been using it with my Mountain bike and have the cadence sensor hooked up and working, which is nice as the power sets to 0 as I am descending on the trail. But just riding it down the street I've noticed no more 600w just rolling down the street. However,...

A MTB thread for info, fun, and wacky ideas
Pardon me if the title seems a bit presumptuous. There isn't a whole lot of discussion about MTB use and I thought a unifying thread might be helpful for folks like me. I also have some questions, and some crazy ideas I thought might be fun bantering about. There a few good threads on how to get you...

Re: Rechargeable Batteries
Did we ever get an answer? I just got a little charger with 6 lithium rechargeable batteries off ebay for $15. Other than the computer, and maybe the wireless base, the heart rate monitor tends to go through them pretty quick if I use it a lot because often times before I leave the house to drive to...

Re: iSport and Issac
Just got it back today. I haven't played with it much yet today other than to get it paired with my Garmin sensor I got some time ago (no Garmin, just the sensor). Very happy. The old speed sensor from the commuter bike is now the cadence sensor for the the MTB. I got some magnets from radio shack s...

Re: Newton vs DFPM
The iBike does not use the barometric altimeter for slope. If it did you couldn't get a slope reading by moving it around while holding it in your hand.
rruff, your whole argument about the iBike's inaccuracy due to barometric pressure has no basis in fact.

Re: iBike vs DFPM
I have an almost 3 year old iBike iSport. And at iBike, that is an eternity in evolutionary terms. I am an amateur racer at best, and when I have raced over the last decade, it's been off road. I use my iBike on my commuter bike, my MTB, and my road bike when I had one. I won a free month of coachin...

Re: tilt calibration
Oh, I am really considering the Newton, trust me. But honestly, I just don't make enough to play the powermeter game, even at iBike prices. I have my iSport, and counting my blessings I have that. But I really don't have an issue with tilt, as I know the causes, and to to a tilt cal often, although ...

Using a Newton, a phone app, Isaac, and MapMyRide?
Hello, I know I've been a bit prolific today, and thank you for the quick responses. I have been slobbering for a Newton for a while as an upgrade to my iSport, but budgets are budgets, and I'll have to wait. However I am curious as to how things may work, or the best way to use them if I was able t...

What case comes when you buy an iBike Powerhouse
I have a customer I have been trying to lean towards a Newton, but the price and fact no one in the area has heard of or uses an iBike other than me (over weigh mechanic with an iSport) doesn't help. She is older and "wants to run with the big dogs" but doesn't have any money to spend, rea...

Re: tilt calibration
I use my iSport on 2 bikes, using a Topeak extender as a cheap mount I can switch from bike to bike. I also take my isoprt off after every ride so I can put the numbers into MapMyRide. So, every time I put it back on it moves a bit. I am aware this is my problem, and am more than willing to spend a ...

I bought my iSport in 2009 or 2010, and have never been able to get the firmware updated (currently 4.17). I believe there have been a half dozen or so updates since. I would like to get the last one on there, even if it was the last one. Good to know there won't be any more updates, otherwise buyin...

Should one of us iSport users get a USB connector, is there anything we need to know about using Issac with our iSports? I assume we still cannot download workouts, and what not, but will we still be able to get firmware updates?
Thank you,
Richard

Re: tilt calibration
Not to hijack this thread, but I am curious how is this feature is any different than on my Gen III? My iSport does the same thing after 5 minutes. The only problem is, is that if the tilt is way off my power numbers are thrown off for the first 5 minutes, and it throws the averages and Max's off. A...

Features for Mountian Bikers?
Hello, I haven't checked in on the board for a while. I have a Gen III iSport and love it, even if it was a real pain to get it setup. So, I am really excited about the Newton! Although, I use my iSport on my MTB and commuter bike (with really heavy tires which knock 50w off my power readings). I un...

Look for the thread in FAQ titled "rechargeable wireless mount for iPro-iAero". Or something like that. He gave me real good details on the features of the new mount. And how it was going to available just in time for the cold weather in Maine. (Poke)

Re: Rechargeable wireless holder for iPro-iAero
I just had an idea for this mount (or, well, the next gen of it). If you use a mini USB (now Euro standard for cell phones), you could use the mount as a way to connect your iBike to the computer as well. So you could charge it and and download rides, profiles, update firmware, ect., and charge it a...

How much, and what is the procedure to sending it to you? $75 for a usb connector is not in my budget. I know there is an answer somehwere, but I skowered the forum and website last night to no avail.

Exactly the info I was looking for, so thank you! But, you are way late to beat the cold wether here in Maine. It needed to be available in October to do that. Silly Floridians.

firmware upgrade i want, now what?
It all your guys fault you know. You have come up with an awesome feature in the latest firmware (4.23) that I really want. So, what are my options? How much to ship it to you for a firmware upgrade? Or is there someone in Maine I can take to that can upgrade the firmware for me?
Thanks,
Rich
