So leave the cadence sensor disabled within the 705 settings and do not turn on the iBike. See if the cadence is recorded but ignored.
FWIW I do not trust the settings in the 705 as far as using or not using SPD or CAD sensors.

Re: Race with a disc
Again, a very nice steady effort. You did fade off at the 00:52 mark but still held nice power. I would say that setting your FTP at 250 would be appropriate. It's impossible to know why the wind was slightly less than a zero average, wind is just so extremely unstable, inconsistent and always varyi...

Re: Crazy high power on descents
After many months of wrestling with cal rides and profiles and seeming to get really wonky power numbers, I decided to cave and just use a quick start profile. Once I did, everything seemed about right and I was happy with the numbers. Except for one thing: descents. If I'm pedalling, the power num...

Re: iBike import to Strava not grouping with other riders
Actually the "dedicated" Strava competitive enthusiast will upload all variations and choose the ride which yields the best in Crowns, Cups, and Ribbons. Because of timing differences on the one second trackpoints a merge of the .fit with the .ibr may throw Strava Segments into the favor ...

Re: iBike import to Strava not grouping with other riders
As long as you don't have any issues collecting power data on the ride, the 500 FIT file will work just fine. IF you happen to see a big change post analysis for whatever reason then you would want the iBike data. That said, it's not like you're using Strava for detailed analysis so the FIT file sho...

Re: iBike import to Strava not grouping with other riders
Robert, You don't have to use SportTracks to convert from FIT to another format there are other ways. If you were to use SportTracks it would allow you to use it along with two plugins for free. Beyond two plugins you would have to pay. I took your file from June 8 and imported into Golden Cheetah a...

Re: iBike import to Strava not grouping with other riders
IMO even though there may be a problem in merging some files, I think the root cause is the FIT file. If you convert the FIT to a TCX the issue goes away because the converting software fixes the error in the FIT file. AFA not finding other rides on Strava it may be that Strava has to make some adju...

Re: iBike import to Strava not grouping with other riders
I think the issue is the warning that I posted previously about an invalid lap time in the Garmin 500 file that gets repaired when converting to TCX. This may be a 500 bug that the Garmin forums should have info on since you certainly can't be the only person with this issue.

Re: iBike import to Strava not grouping with other riders
So I imported the FIT file into SportTracks, then exported as a TCX. I merged the TCX in Isaac, saved it and I am attaching it here. Open it and export as a CSV and upload to Strava , WHEW! Let me know if that works by matching up with the other riders. I answered previously, but the same basic met...

Re: Differing power numbers when uploaded to Garmin Connect
Robert, Garmin Connect may not be including zeros. It's impossible to have an IF of more than 1.0 on a ride that's probably close to four hours long. Either there is a basic setting that's wrong, the FTP in Garmin Connect is wrong or their calcs are way off. What does it show on the device because t...

Re: iBike import to Strava not grouping with other riders
Why does your ride say 02/16/2013 even though it was done today. Do you have your Garmin set to forced one second recording? I have a 705 that saves as TCX so I don't know the inner workings of your Garmin. Is it a 500? This might be important, when I try to import the FIT file into Golden Cheetah I...

I have to ask the obvious: 1) Has the battery in the HR strap been checked? 2) Has the HR strap failed? 3) Have you scanned for sensors? Does iBike show as a sensor found? 4) Did you change the battery and now have a new id? 5) Please post a ride file, any ride file since the problem began. 6) What ...

Re: Race with a disc
@andrep For me (and I think most riders) maintaining 225w in a tailwind is easier than maintaining 225w in a headwind. When dealing with a headwind you tend to feel every little change of a gust and you constantly chase your numbers. When in a tailwind you don't feel the slight wind changes nearly a...

Re: Power readout and dropping an ANT+ sensor (on purpose)
Hmm, then try the way John from Velocomp suggested. With the DFPM off do a scan for sensors by holding down the up and down arrows at the same time. Have your other sensors active and Newton will store the new profile. Don't forget to "Get" the profile from Newton when connected so you can...

Re: Power readout and dropping an ANT+ sensor (on purpose)
The Newton shows the DFPM values while riding. To eliminate this you can go to the profile in Isaac and remove the value for Power In (DFPM). Then send the profile back to Isaac with no other changes. It should find your HR/SPD/CAD and nothing else. Then have the Garmin scan for sensors without Isaa...

Re: Drafting and erroneous wind data from ibike
Do a hard reset (left, middle, right and bottom buttons all at once), then set the date and time. I agree a cal ride can be a pain but it might be really worth it this time. Since you're using Profile 1, leave it alone. Switch to profile 2, enter setup and go to the FAST START screen. Put in your inf...

It works for me, though I don't remember where I got the FB address. At the top it says Posting Address and I've got a series of asterisks. Below that a message and then I need to decide which picture to post.
What do you see at Posting Address since that's the limiter here?

Re: Drafting and erroneous wind data from ibike
Since this isn't an out/back there's no way to figure out if your wind scaling is off. I do have to say that this TT and the group ride do not have the same profile. They're similar but not identical and the wind scaling is a little over 5% higher in the TT ride. You'll have to consider doing a cal ...

Re: Drafting and erroneous wind data from ibike
I was able to extract your profile out of the file up uploaded. The only thing I noticed is that the wind scaling looks low since you're on the handlebars. However it's not out of the realm of possible numbers. If you could upload whatever ride you recently did solo, especially if it has an out/back...

Re: Drafting and erroneous wind data from ibike
A couple of questions: 1) Is your Newton on the stem or on the handlebar? 2) Did you really draft the entire ride?? Assuming no, it's obvious either the wind sensor is blocked, or somehow the wind offset got thrown WAY off. 3) Are you sure this is the correct profile for this bike? You might have a ...
