Re: Feature request: download stand-alone GPS from NT server
John would it be possible to have a way of flagging in Isaac that NT is not being used. I get the 'problem with tracker' message for every ride I upload and need to click 'did not ride with NT' I'd like to be able to say "Didn't use NT and don't ask me again" If I did choose to use NT in f...

Re: Do you recognize the pros and cons?
I would think if Velocomp were considering such an option, it would (should) be done in parallel with a 'bells & whistles' model. IE One that has GPS chipset, backlight and a display/UI similar to Garmin. So have the bare bones, "black box", power only unit at the low end of pricing; i...

Re: Profiles
I have asked before I was told the trainer curve is 'global' to the Newton. Not specific to a profile.
Which makes sense for typical usage.
What seems specific to the profile however is being in trainer mode v road mode.

Re: Newton Calibration Ride and Memory
You can delete it.
You'll find when you have a few rides to upload that you will generally select "erase when done"
This will delete all rides - i.e. you'd never be able to keep a specific ride anyway

Re: Using PowerStroke with DFPM as cadence sensor
Unlike most crank-based power meters on the market today the Power2Max does not require a cadence magnet. Instead, the unit includes an accelerometer to automatically determine your cadence. In doing so, it’ll then transmit that cadence information to your head unit, which will display it in the ap...

Re: Fast Rec keeps coming on
Yes but I mean if you (say) don't notice/ ignore it so the message stays on the screen, is the ride being recorded? (If so, PowerStroke mode or not?) When you first press the OK button to turn on, you then get the "Fast Rec" message, but if you've already actived the sensors you will also ...

Re: Hi Def recording in trainer mode
Thanks John. In our case we're on actually rollers and I'd say there is more movement than on the road (enough to show up on the altitude profile if in non-trainer mode). Certainly plenty of side to side too. :) I guess for my purpose I could use non-trainer mode and convert the power data myself af...

Hi Def recording in trainer mode
Hi is Hi Def recording possible in trainer mode?
I have been playing around with various options to get a satisfactory "curve" used for our rollers.
If I use trainer mode it seems I lose powerstroke.
Perhaps this is just a 'default' and I can change a setting?

If you do not press "OK" to acknowledge the "Fast Rec On" message, is the unit still recording in the background?

Re: Tilt measuring and repairing bad tilt eide
In #1 scenario I do a Tilt Cal. This gets the tilt showing +/- reciprocal values although sometimes takes a few goes. Also I prefer to confirm the slope in 'tilt cal' mode as it stays on that display longer than regular slope display which might revert to main screen before it has settled to an accu...

Just tried to load the iBike GPX file into the converter at http://www.poiedit.com/downloads.htm and it would not load.
Editing the GPX file to make it comply is beyond me.

Re: Powerstroke Ideal vs Real World
I just installed a Doval chainring on my son's bike ($15 off eBay) and will be watching to see how powerstroke patterns differ. He tends to have a vertical oval shape on the powerstroke plots. One thing I notice is you need ride segments of a 'reasonable' length to get smoth plots. Too short and the...

Re: does the power out option via ant+ work in trainer mode
I'm still on 4.x and had no problem pairing Newton to my laptop (with USB ANT+ dongle) So no specific Newton settings - I didn't even set to trainer mode as GC on the laptop was doing the power profile and logging the ride direct. (GC picked up the Newton, my HRM and the speed/cadence all separately...

Hi there I tried recently to export a ride file with GPS data in GPX format (via the Isaac menu option) hoping to merge it with a Garmin Virb video. However when I tried to import that to Garmin Virb Edit it gave an error along lines of "GPX file has no header or GPS data". A bit of Google...

So, for example, I chose an Isaac profile, say vi, then use the "Set Active Profile in Device" tab to pick Profile 4 in the Newton and then hit the "Send to Device" button and that puts profile vi in position/Profile 4 in the Newton? I was confused about this myself but the answ...

Yes same for me Julian.
I do however see latest posts via the "new posts" option.
Recently I was finding that I was always having to login despite checking "automatically log in" (or whatever)
That seems to have passed however.

Re: Time Trialling with the iBike
I often use the “Fit Train / User” function, not just in intervals and TT but also in criteriums so that I have the elapsed time handy. One gripe I have relates to when you select “Fit Train / User” the time at zero is flashing and when you start the time & averaging will automatically start. Ho...

Thanks guys.
I had wondered about the viability of the upside-down option.
Or just right way up and duct tape the screen for races.
We're at the track again this weekend so will decide & action by then.

Thanks Russ Just to clarify: This was for my 10yo son on his track bike. He is 150cm & 37kg so the low CdA is expected and the result of proper cal ride prior to these changes. Riding circles at the velodrome. "Plexi-pave" surface, so smoother than asphalt but not quite wooden boards. ...

Basically your best best is to use the standard "Fit Train / User" mode where you get:
- Ave Power
- Current Power
- Time & HR alternating
PS "Other data" means HR/Cadence/Calories as per pre-V5

Hi I recently swapped out the bars & stem on our track bike. I also changed the mounting from bar to stem. Due to being rushed that day and the difficulty of doing a cal ride for track bikes, I just did a tilt cal with the new setup and left the profile otherwise the same. After the loading the ...
