Re: Traveling From caribbean (PR) to Canada calibration?
Presumably you're going to pack your bike for shipment. If so you will likely knock around the handlebars. Optimally, you should do a new Cal Ride, or at least ride for 10 minutes on some route so that the tilt sensor can recalibrate automatically. The Wind Cal should be ok, but if you want to check...

Re: new Garmin inertial cadence sensor signal
If this is what Garmin does, then this sensor won't provide the needed information to PowerStroke. We can measure with high precision the location of the cadence sensor based on the timing of the signals. In a conventional sensor the timing is based on the location of the cadence sensor and magnet. ...

Re: Velocomputer
In physics power is defined as force x speed. Naturally, to do this calculation you've got to start the calculations at some defined point. In the Newton (and in all other devices for that matter) the ride file begins when motion or cadence is detected. So, if you're starting from a dead stop, in a...

Re: Velocomputer
Was just thinking this morning that we soon have track season coming (in AU) and I'll be planning some drills to work on TT efforts from standing starts. It will be interesting to track progress with the Newton and other software. What is the precise trigger for Newton to start calcutating? Is it w...

Re: Wind scaling
It looks like the first 30KM of your ride was in a group; is this correct? At KM 36.1 it looks like you begin an interval that goes for about 2 minutes. Your power in this interval is 224w, you have a very slight (5km/h) tail wind, and there is a small uphill (0.15%). Your bike speed is about 35.1 K...

Re: Windows Phone
Hi jazxclrint, If you can collect your gps track with some app on the phone, and further if you can export the file as tcx or one of the other importable formats...... then you can transfer that to the system that runs Isaac and import the file, all manual steps but it should work. Russ Great idea;...

Re: CdA setting overrides Cad. Feature or glitch
There are two ways to get PowerStroke information: 1) Purchase the iBike PowerStroke as a new unit 2) Purchase the PowerStroke upgrade key for your iBike Newton The iBike PowerStroke upgrade key adds the PowerStroke upgrade to your iBike Newton. It does not add any additional feature, including CdA ...

The front mount should work just fine on rough roads. But if you want the ultimate, stiff front mount solution, wait a bit longer...we have something coming that is bombproof.

Re: How many bike profiles for Newton PS and Issac
The Newton holds 4 separate profiles in its memory.
You can have as many profiles you want in Isaac, without limitation; any 4 of them can be stored simultaneously in the Newton.

This sounds like an issue you'll need to discuss with Training Peaks. How they define their zones, and how they calculate them.

Re: Help with RWS
Looks GREAT! When I check ride file calibration, what I always do is look at the first ride AFTER the cal ride. The subsequent ride includes the factors measured during the cal ride. Your ride looks good because wind speed readings don't show suspicious "flames" or "icicles". Als...

Re: Ibike Newton and Garmin Vector
Hello again. Any advances with the Newton displaying L/R power output? More to the point, what DFPM does Newton support? I am now considering getting a DFPM (Rotor power crank - I've ran out of patience with Brimm Brothers and I don't ride with the pedals that come with Garmin Vectors) so that I ca...

Re: Help with RWS
You are a very light rider, so the good news is that it doesn't take huge amounts of power to climb hills. Your 57 mile race had 170 average watts, about 80% of your FTP of 211W. For a 57 mile race this seems like a very reasonable number... I would redo the Cal Ride. There is no reason to adjust Cd...

Re: Trouble E Mailing ride files w/iBike Dash+Pwr
This sounds like a problem with the Mail app in your iPod touch.
Using the Mail app, try sending an email from your iPod touch. If you do receive your test email, then your iBike app should work just fine, as long as you are sending to the same email address.

Where is the post about your RWS? Lets keep this thread going...(the other is in the same folder or section) The ride was a straight out and back...about 9 miles in I unplugged the RWS, the average power prior to this was like 90-95 watts, once I unplugged the watts shot up and I averaged 140ish - ...

Re: Help with RWS
So are you saying the watts up to Mile 9 were accurate? The reason why I question it is some of the hills are steep - over 4% incline, its hard to get over them only putting out 140 watts. I really want to get this figured out! The total weight of you and bike in these rides is 148 pounds. This see...

Re: Help with RWS
Your RWS is working fine. Your wind readings are completely normal for the first part of the ride. When you pulled out your RWS at mile 8.5 your wind readings turned into consistent "flames" indicating that your wind readings are wrong. It looks like you are getting decent wind readings ev...

Re: Accuracy of set up
Here's what is going on: 1) Your Isaac software is set (in Preferences) to "Automatically Analyze Route". I can tell this because out-and-back annotations are included in the elevation profile 2) Auto Analyze is automatically adjusting your wind speed so that net-wind on the out-and-back i...

Re: CdA setting overrides Cad. Feature or glitch
CdA is displayed whenever cadence is zero for more than 15 seconds.
It sounds like the "CdA on" function causes Cad to display.
We will take note of this.
