Re: New Front Mount
Hi, I am wondering whether to buy the two armed solo front mount for my third bike. What I could not figure out when I checked the pictures about it is whether I can set the angle between the arms or not. My third bike has a special twin J bars, so the angle of the bars is less than 180 degrees. Tha...

Re: Newton FW 5.18 is now available
I meant why there are two cal ride protocols alternating each other on Mewton+ with FW 5.18. But you are right when mention the lack of trust. Therefore I will repeat this sorta multiple cal ride test on my road bike, where the mount is properly positioned for more years and I intentionally make the...

I supposed so.
And the 1.6km&back + 5 min&back sequence is a rule of cal riding in fact?

Re: Newton FW 5.18 is now available
Hi, Yesterday I updated my Newton+ to FW 5.18. Today I had my first ride with my new bike, a highracer recumbent. I mention it, because I could not install my Newton+ in a traditional way, the only position when I could place Newton+ to make the display visible for me was skewed sideways abit and al...

Re: temperature sensor bias
In FW 5 we don't offer the option to adjust the temperature bias. But you are correct that adding/subtracting a fixed amount from your reported temperatures is all that is required. I am someone who also needs/lacks this feature. I remembered that in FW4 there may have been a menu item in Newton+ w...

No problem for me, I can live with it. So just out of curiosity, why is there an option of 'blank' for the bottom part in the configuring menu of Isaac?

Configuring screens
Malfunction: if I choose 'blank' for the bottom part of the screen it has the same effect as opting for 'other data', so there is no way to make the bottom part blank. No difference between screen no 1 and 2.
If I choose blank for the top or for the middle it will be blank on Newton display in fact.

Resetting max/avg values of Newton
Maybe I repeatedly overlook something, but I do not know whether it is possible to get rid of the max/avg values without doing a hard reset. 1. I tried trip reset 2. I tried data reset 3. I searched for the word "reset'" in Newton manual 4. I searched for the word "reset'" even i...

Pout enabled or not?
Hi, I surmised that after upgrading to Fw5 including GT key feature, the small 'bulb' next to 'pout enabled' in Edit profiles menu item will be light green to show that power output is enabled. When I had a Gen3 iAero I did have the light green bulb. Alas so far I have had no chance to test with my ...

Re: Annoying Newton defaults to English measures
Solved with some trials. I used Newton setup which did overwrite imperial to metric. And I used send profile again to make it sure that the original parameters will be used by Newton.

Re: Annoying Newton defaults to English measures
Hi all, I upgraded to 5.09 from 4.16 and got imperial measures. I tried to revert to metric with the help of Isaac (edit/edit profiles/send to device), but it has no effect on units. Since fast start is not available in 5.09, I have no clue how to get back the metric units on my Newton. Anybody know...

Re: Is it possible to turn auto-pause off?
Yes, what Pete said basically. It is also a good metric to judge your workouts. If you were supposed to do all out intervals, for example, it could help you determine whether you really gave it your all or backed off too early. Same with FTP tests. Obviously not a perfect model but it looks quite p...

OK, I made contact with Ray. Here is his review of the new PowerPod power meter: http://www.dcrainmaker.com/2015/08/first-powerpod-power.html It's good to see. I own the nickname "Tisztul_A_Visztula" and was the one who started to provoke Ray on 19th August with the missing Newton review.

1) At present, temperature can't be configured on a main screen. In a future (free) FW update we will make it possible to show temperature on a main screen. I'll buy fw 5 when I will hear about this update. I promise. I'd really love to see all of these three environmental variables on the same page.

Re: Newton as PowerTap head unit without speed sensor?
Though I won't guarantee it, I suspect that if you use an ANT+ speed sensor only (not the combined speed/cadence sensor we ship with the Newton), then the Newton will use the cadence data provided by the PT hub. Just out of curiosity? Why does Newton insist on having on standalone speed or cad/spd ...

Re: Getting Rid of Spurious DFPM signals
We have been unable to reproduce this situation. Sorry for the late reply, but I had no time for riding until recently. I insist on that there is a bug in 4.14, too. a) if one sets the filter to 0, Newton+ shows the power readings measured by itself, if Dfp Disp is set to OFF. b) if one sets the fi...

Re: Auto Shutoff
If you want to use Newton for wind measurement you need to be hiking at more than 8 km/h otherwise it shows 0 wind. If you are adept at some electronics and programming you could try to build your own device using Arduino. All the sensors you want are readily available. Maybe someone has already de...

Re: Auto Shutoff
A good point, Russ. :-) To be honest I have more tools to be considered. First of all I have two Joule GPSs, so I would not be extremely sad, if I broke one of them. On the other hand its mounting is easier, it goes to a rounded, slim plastic, which can be fastened to a handlebar with different size...
