I've got a zillion of them, but I'm traveling right now and don't have them on my laptop.

Will post some next week.

Re: Some problems

You've now discovered one of the key flaws of Strava. They have no clue if you are riding in a group or riding into a 30KM headwind. They assume there is no headwind or tail wind. If you're riding in a group Strava will be high. A 50 watt difference is not at all surprising, and Strava is WRONG. You...

Re: PowerPod vs Newton?

In terms of performance, they are identical...because internally they are identical.

That said PowerPod doesn't have a screen, so it does not have on-the-bike reporting of data like wind speed and hill slope or CdA.

Re: Some problems

PowerPod needs to be in exactly the same position as the previous ride. If it is not it will take about 8 minutes to recalibrate. This is what happened at the beginning of your ride. I split off the first part of your ride with the command below. It looks like you were riding in a group for most of ...

Re: Wind cal changed in middle of the ride

It looks like the mist blocked your wind sensor. If you ride often in these conditions it's time to upgrade to a Newton 6!! I used the Tools/Repair Selection for Blocked Wind Sensor... command to get your file back to normal. Highlight the bad wind data then apply the command. Repaired ride file is ...

When riding outdoors you need to switch your PP to outdoor mode before heading out!

I converted your ride using the commands Tools/Repair/Convert to Outdoor ride, then Analyze/Analyze Route.

Corrected ride is attached.

Re: Dc Rainmaker Comment

Ray has uploaded a YouTube video looking at the power pod. Looks quite good to me. http://youtu.be/88bZuBF-ZCw It's a very good and fair review. The reason PP "lags" behind his DFPM is because we designed it that way, so that long intervals would be smooth but sprints would respond instan...

Re: On-line Docs for PowerPod?

PowerPod has very few documents (it's a lot simpler than Newton). You can go to powerpodsports.com to learn about the device and its options. The Help menu of Isaac includes its installation instructions. Attached is a Tips and Troubleshooting guide for PowerPod. That's all the documentation there is!

Re: Powerstroke not available with my latest data

There may be a small bug causing the "first ride" after switching from outdoor to indoor to still be recorded in outdoor mode.

After switching to indoor mode you can kill the bug by doing a hard reset on your PowerPod.

Re: Powerstroke not available with my latest data

You're right that, on rollers, PowerStroke will pick up your side-to-side motion. If you want to use PowerStroke with your rollers, right now , here is a neat trick you can do: 1) Set your PowerPod to outdoor mode so that PowerStroke will function 2) Do your ride 3) Download your ride and get your P...

Your observations about indoor trainer PS are very interesting! Please post a sample ride file. What version of FW are you using? If you switch modes AFTER your PowerPod has started to record a ride (or it thinks you have started riding) then it may not correctly switch modes until after it goes to ...

I've just tried to use it again and it won't even turn on now. When I plug it in to my Mac it doesn't recognise it and when I try to charge it nothing happens - no lights, nothing. Even when trying to turn it on. I really didn't expect to have all of these issues, pretty disappointing that I've bee...

So do I not actually have to calibrate it as per the instructions? And if I do need to, what do I actually do? In trainer mode no calibration is required. All calibration coefficients needed are included in the trainer profile. I spring time, when you set your PowerPod to outdoor mode, the first 5 ...

Re: Profiles and trainer options

In trainer mode, with FW 607, the yellow light will remain on until PowerPod goes to sleep. This is an annoyance and minor bug, but won't hurt anything. We will be releasing FW 608 shortly, which corrects this problem. Note that the "calibrate" screens in your Garmin have no effect on Powe...

Sadly, Are there any plans to release a front mount that is compatible with flat "aero like" bars that come with more aero race bikes such as the Specialized Venge? Or the Zipp Vuka drop handlebars. The stiff front mount doesn't fit it. Sadly, this illustrates the problem. From the Zipp si...

When in doubt use a generic Kurt Kinetic profile.

Also, since you ride outdoors, you can calibrate the "feel" of your indoor trainer against the experience you know outdoors.

When you pedal this fast does it sound like a food blender beneath you? :-)

The problem is intermittent operation of your cadence sensor. See image from your ride, with zero filtering applied.

Position your cadence sensor and magnet properly and this problem will go away

Is you're handlebar a 35mm or 31.8? As far as I can tell they still don't have a 35mm option, but that page is of no help when it comes to the diameter, which is shocking. Why would you have things that mount on handlebars and not have the diameter they fit? Sorry about our oversight! We have corre...
