Exact same thing happened to a different friend of mine on a ride today... It has happened multiple times to these two guys...
It appears to be impossible to recover the original data to demonstrate the problem; the software always seems to correct for it. I have attached an example.

Re: How to get raw ride data?
Gotta disagree about it being a bug; the iBike shouldn't start recording before it is finished its startup sequence.
Just my opinion, but the unit should know this and not require the user to do it. I am unaware of any other cyclometer that has this problem (AFAIK).
Just my $0.02

Re: How to get raw ride data?
Well, if that's what was going on then I would expect the distance to be a tad low (probably too small to really be detected).
But what is happening is the opposite. A Huge over-measurement.

How to get raw ride data?
A friend of mine has experienced (a couple of times) an odd thing where during his ride it would all of a sudden show that he rode a huge distance when he hadn't. For example, yesterday at mile 40 (for us) we averaged about 18, his unit showed he was at mile 126 and had averaged 28mph. I wanted to l...

When remounting, do you need to re-cal?
I assume it is pretty easy to take the mount off if you don't want to use it.
But if you remount it I am guessing one would need to do another calibration ride?
I assume you don't if you are just replacing the recharged battery...

true, hadn't thought of that. Looks insanely ugly though.

how to mount on my new bike
So, I have bit of a challenge. My new bike has a pretty large stem, so I know I can't mount the iBike on it. Also, the handlebars are "shaped" and not round... So, any thoughts on how to get a good mount on the handlebars? I assume I am not the first person to investigate this, just intere...

Nope, no work done. Headset still nice and tight.
Besides, if it were just a tad loose I might expect small changes, not those HUGE jumps.

Looks like my tilt was all over the place here. Any ideas what might cause this? First time I have ever seen anything like it.

Re: Can't calibrate ride?
Any chance of getting it tweaked to be closer??
Also, I have another bike I would like to use. I am trying to get it to be as similar in terms of weight, fit and position on the bike as the one I am using now. What are my options since I can't seem to get a reliable calibration?

Re: Can't calibrate ride?
The entire ride was a group ride. I did get a good wind calibration to start, and then re-did it around mile 30 when we stopped. When I apply this profile to the ride (after the ride) it looks like it is showing 10% lower power instead of 20% lower (by my eyeball calculation). Certainly better, but ...

Re: iAero as head unit for Quarq
OK, did my maiden voyage with my DFPM, and I am seeing pretty different results compared to my iBike. Looking at the comparison page I am seeing this: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ R^2 ------------------------------------------------------------------------...

Re: iAero as head unit for Quarq
Seems like that would be a nice software feature; analyze iBike profile compared with DFPM measurements (over the course of a ride of course)

So, just to be clear, all power related display on the bike would be based on the DFPM (like NP, TSS, etc)?

Do the numbers in the profile look good to you?
And is it worth re-doing the cal ride using a 1sec sampling rate and doing some coast downs?

Can't calibrate ride?
So, I did a successful calibration ride, however when I try to load it into the software, I select the portion of the ride that was out and back, but the calculate button on step 4 of the dialog is always grayed out.
Any ideas?

iBike Aero III w/Garmin speed cadence sensor issue
So, my unit is suddenly showing me calories instead of cadence. I know the speed/cadence sensor is working because of the wattage it is showing me only when I pedal.
Any ideas (sorry if this is a FAQ, couldn't search for it).

iBike needs wind cal during ride?
I have experienced this a few times now and it is a bit annoying. Basically, I start my ride out with a good wind calibration. I even validate it before I start riding. Then very early in the ride I notice my power readings are looking a tad off. Sure enough when I check the wind calibration it is s...

OK. I have attached my cal ride with 8 coast downs. The surface was pretty smooth, byt the Crr seems pretty low.

Coast downs in addition to a cal ride?
If I have already done a cal ride, would coast downs help get a more accurate profile? If so, what additional work is done with a coast down (what aspects of the profile would be improved)?
