Re: I think I messed things up!

Just rode up my 9% lane for a few seconds, and it displayed power immediately.

Re: I think I messed things up!

I did confirm the profile data - correct.

The N6 found the sensors and those functioned correctly before re-pairing.

I just did a re-pairing, all found. It showed DFPM Off.

I think I messed things up!

Yesterday I was trying to find where I adjust my height. I was in Isaac/Edit/Edit Profile/Wireless ID to see if that was there. I clicked on Forget DFPM (it was paired to a Vector 2) as I no longer own the Vectors. When I began my ride after, there was no power displayed, although speed and cadence ...

Re: Who's correct - Newton or Vector

John, I had to laugh with the use of a hurricane to illustrate your point.
Floridians are experts where hurricanes are concerned.

It did make your point clear, I appreciate the info and the chuckle.

Cheers.

Re: Who's correct - Newton or Vector

Thanks John. I get somewhat different results between N6 and BikeCalculator at different points, some differences greater than others, but the net result is the same, Garmin considerably lower. I am curious about the calculations over the entire ride. N6 reports average 178W and if I plug in the sta...

Who's correct - Newton or Vector

I rode today with iBike N6 and Garmin Vector 2. According to the math (http://bikecalculator.com) neither seem correct. During the ride the N6 was almost always much higher W than the Garmin. I performed a Cal Ride and did a static calibration of the Garmin (with new batteries) then did my ride and ...

Re: No power while putting force on pedals

Thanks John. FYI, it's a Newton 6, but your answers still apply. Yes, the new cadence sensor does make a difference, no more rouge spikes at 230 RPM. Thanks for that advice. I weighed myself and the bike together just prior to the ride to accurately set the weight in Settings in the N6, 82 Kg, that'...

No power while putting force on pedals

Hi After following Johns suggestion of getting a new cadence sensor, I am still having an issue with power. Unlike the last issue which was spiking (hence the new sensor) I am getting zero power reading on descents while putting force on the pedals. (File attached, about 41 minutes in.) I have recen...

Re: Exporting smoothed power data.

John, I have taken a closer look at one of these spikes from the ibr file I attached previously. I certainly see the power spike in tandem with cadence anomalies, but I also see other artifacts, such as spikes/depressions in the wind trace, slope, etc. I understand the relationship between speed/win...

Re: Exporting smoothed power data.

Thanks for your insight. Now that you have pointed it out, I see the cadence spikes. Looks like this, combined with Tom's assessment of a problem in my previous, indicates my GSC-10 may be on it's last legs. Also explains why different occurrences in power spikes on different bikes. I think most mag...

Exporting smoothed power data.

I can't seem to find this topic on Newton 6 and anomalous power spikes. I find that with one bike, my preferred Look 695 SR, that every ride I find very high power spikes. On some occasions over 1200W when 600-700W is expected. When the data is smoothed to 5", the power trace appears to correlate to...

Re: Dropped power, wrong cadence sensor, and wrong display

Oops, I forgot to post an update. I received an email from Tom Gore and he suggested I do a hard re-set of the Garmin GSC-10 cadence/speed device. Sure enough, it worked. (John, I'm sure you aren't at all surprised that Tom had the answer.) Goes to show that maybe there may be a simple solution to a...

Re: Dropped power, wrong cadence sensor, and wrong display

Thanks John. I will do those steps. The Newton has never had pairing issues before, bravo, but I do understand how pairing around other devices, particularly power meters, could be problematic. The torrential rains of Vancouver have stopped and there is blue stuff in the sky (not sure what that is),...

Dropped power, wrong cadence sensor, and wrong display

Where to start?... Yesterdays ride went as such: Turned on Newton 6, paired HRM, paired Garmin GC-10 speed/cadence, paired DFPM, even though there is no DFPM associated with the bike profile. My buddy has a DFPM, so Newton was picking up that signal. I get that. DFPM was turned off in Edit Profiles/...

Isaac crashes on new Mac Powerbook Pro

Hi guys; I'm a bit stymied here. I have a new Macbook Pro. I did the Mac copy from the old Mac to the new one via Time Machine. How to calibrate Newton on a CX / gravel bike

Hi guys; I bought a CX bike I will be using for CX races in the fall and for gravel grinds this summer. I have scoured the forum looking advice on Cal ride and Coast tests, but they seem to elude me. I did a Cal ride on pavement and the power looked fine on pavement, but I'm not sure on gravel. Do I...

Power spikes in CSV files not found in IBR files

When I export csv file for Strava and Golden Cheetah, I often get power data anomalies that is completely inaccurate. For example, in the attached ibr file, the max is 583W according to Isaac and in the exported csv file is is 1733W. There are 5 or 6 anomalies in the csv file. The only adjustment I ...

Display temperature in Isaac

Temperature is recorded by Newton throughout the ride, as you know. Is it possible, in a future Isaac update, to show (and export?) a temperature trace? There are currently up to 8 traces displayed in Isaac. Perhaps keep the number of traces displayed by Isaac at 8 (they display well), but have the ...

I did a calibration ride and things were no better. I have tried to calibrate on several occasions. The same today - downhill...

Re: No temperature transfered to Strava

After digging a bit, I see that temperature is recorded by the Newton, as seen in the CSV file, but not available in Isaac. (That would be a nice option. Performance and temperature are related.) Temperature shows in TrainingPeaks (PWX). I realize that TCX and FIT don't contain temperature data, but...

No temperature transfered to Strava

I have noticed that the file exported from Isaac 'for Strava', .csv format, does not include the temperature data. I tied exporting as TCX as well - no temp.

Also, is there not a way to directly transfer the data to Strava from Isaac, such is possible to Training Peaks?

Thanks
