I changed the mount battery
I was using a fan, and the problem started when I turned the fan up, but I've used the same fan before and not had this issue.
this was a trainer ride this AM, and it was fine and dandy....

Trainer Mode Cuts Off When On The Trainer
15 minutes into a trainer workout, "trainer off" flashed. did a reset. started again. same stupid thing happens. changed battery in iBike. same stupid thing happens changed battery in mount. same stupid thing happens. I've used this thing on the trainer a ton -- used it this morning, it wo...

Re: FTP zones vs. CP zones
I'm no authority I'm also not a big fan of "95% of 20min = FTP" that's in the ballpark for the middle of the bell curve, but not for those on either end of it better to do 2x20 on 5 minutes rest, or 3x20, and then look at the average power. I'll do those, and consecutive climbs of Ceasar's...

Re: FTP zones vs. CP zones
Simplify. FTP is the key. Races are decided on 5-minute, 1-minute, and :15 power, but FTP gets you in the door to use that big anaerobic engine (if you have it). The CP model -- like Joe Friel tried to come up with a few years ago -- micro-manages power zones and becomes unwieldly. I think it best t...

Feature Request: Power Curve for Rollers?
I've been lusting after a set of Tru-Trainers or E-Motions, but I don't see an option for those in the trainer mode menu.
Have they not shared their power curves? I see that E-Motion has a calculator on their site....

boyd, how much have you found arm+leg warmers affect cda?
i'm a big baby and if its cold enough for a jacket, i just ride indoors
do long sleeves and leg warmers add enough drag to merit another profile?

Re: Determining weekly TSS loads
if you're a long-time endurance athlete with a balanced life, then just listen to your body if you're new to endurance sports, or lead an unbalanced life (you ride your bike 20 hours a week or you work 60+), get a coach and rest when s/he tells you to. I've seen people try to tweak the edge of their...

core work on the ball -- especially exercises where you are working the transverse abdominals by moving your arms+legs at the same time. abdominal pikes (what my college and high school swimming coaches called "v-sits") are great as well. as for legs, I'm a believer in Andrew Coggan's take...

Re: How accurate is the Trainer Mode?
gotcha funny thing is that I find an hour on the trainer at a high wattage+HR easier than on the road I find HR is higher on the road because my upper body and core are doing work to bear weight and soak up bumps, and things like pavement changes and road undulations make holding a consistent 10w zo...

Re: How accurate is the Trainer Mode?
And the relationship between indoor and outdoor wattage has almost no connection so I don't bother trying to make the two match. If tracking TSB you might want to adjust TSS based on perceived exertion but I've found leaving things alone works just fine IMO. a watt's a watt, right? I used to do int...

How accurate is the Trainer Mode?
I've heard the formulas can be as much as 5-10% off, due to manufacturers' variances in the trainers. these numbers look a little high to me, but at the same time, are within the range. how consistent are the Kurt Kinetic Riad Machines with their formula? Would it be a good idea to calibrate my trai...

Re: What's your fitness score and watts/kg?
I look at a lot of data to establish FTP -- 20MP tests, back-to-back climbs up Ceasar's Head, computrainer TTs, Lowe's TTs, and what my highest 60MP is in WKO+. I don't put too much stock in any one of these -- I think unless you have a lot 40kTT data you have to look at power over the spectrum from...

HR Signal Drop When Stopping
I stopped to fill up my water bottle and take a pee with 45 minutes left in a ride yesterday. HR wouldn't pick up when I came back out and got going again. no biggie, I just looked at the watts and kept it around 300 but it would have been nice to see a HR line for that last 30 min of work what's th...

Re: Lowe's TT File Look Ok?
boyd, that's the fourth lowe's TT I've done, and the fourth time I've overcooked the first lap. Its nice to be able to see how badly I overdid it, trying to get out of turn one and up to 29+ on the backstretch on the first lap. I see that next time, its a slow build to turn two, not a JATO takeoff.....

Lowe's TT File Look Ok?
The intervals didn't save (my doofus error, I guess). snipped and clipped the ride file to get the TT part (22:48). Same setup as coastdowns -- jersey and shorts, regular helmet, 32h wheels, no shoe covers. Does the wind and everything else look ok for Lowe's Motor Speedway? Anything look off in the...

rough roads -- wattage drops
on some stretches of really rotten stuff around here, I notice that the watts displayed will drop by as much a 100+w -- from old power tap files, I know that if my speed holds constant on those stretches, I actually have to put out 10-20w more than on the smooth surface before the pavement changes (...

yeah, go it working fine
did a 2hr ride with 90min tempo
245 avg for the ride, consistently around 275 for the tempo
those numbers jibe with the 330FTP from computrainer sessions this summer
400 bucks, and even a doofus can figure it out
pretty cool

I ordered the wireless sport and the optional cadence sensor
do i need to start cutting zip ties and throw it in the box until I get a HR strap?
the instructions don't say anything about going to the setup screen or how to get there

I've read some users' reports that water/rain in the port causing problems with the unit. Was that a Gen I issue, or is it something that still needs attention (I remember having to take apart my powertap hub after any ride in the rain...)?

Re: isport -- rough roads and interval memory?
I don't have an isport currently -- I've used a rebuilt srm and a power tap in the past, but I've just trained by feel in the last two years. If the isport can give me accurate and consistent data for tempo, FTP, and VO2 intervals with minimal fuss and cost, then I'm just about sold on one.

Ok, the accuracy is good.
What about user ability with the isport to go back and look at avg watts for each interval in a 2x20, 5x5, etc.? Can that be done with the trip function?
