Re: Editing Profiles for Dummies

Travis is working on this and we hope to release the "wizard" soon. Not to be a pest but do you have a target date? 'Soon' has been stated several times. Again, I mean this in a 'polite' manner and am just looking for something to keep me from continually pestering you about this particul...

Re: iBike needs wind cal during ride?

Ok so one final question I promise ! I'll swing out and do that tonight, was I right in changing the friction number to estimated ? I think not by what you have stated, as ideally that number once is calibrated correct and your mount is steady and not moved should not change correct? So should I cha...

Re: iBike needs wind cal during ride?

Worry about getting your CdA and Crr values right... these are the characteristics of you and your bike that determine your power requirements. CdA is aero drag and Crr is rolling resistance. Weight also matters, but that is easy. Forget about Fric and Aero for now, as they combine other variables ...

Re: iBike needs wind cal during ride?

So every profile I've done my Numbers slowly get less and less I'm expecting that in 12 mths I'll be talking about a windscaling factor of 0.400 or something along those lines. Since your wind scaling is dropping, that means it is getting more sensitive... which doesn't seem like a bad thing to me....

Re: iBike needs wind cal during ride?

John, You have previously commented that my calibration was fine...? And nothing has changed since then... This problem has occurred only on the last two rides where temperatures have dropped below 10 degrees. Nothing else has changed and all previous months rides gave generally consistent results....

Re: Waterproofing the iBike

We're not quiet; we are extremely busy and it's tough to find enough hours in the day :D If cadence is working but speed is not then water entering the mount area is not causing the problem. From your photos I can see that your wired speed/cadence mount uses a speed sensor we discontinued over 2 ye...

Re: Waterproofing the iBike

Steveoc thats some great design concepts, would be good to know how you get on. I seriously can't believe how much rain we are having over in the land of Oz at the moment. Steve, You are thorough--you must be an engineer :) Water issues with the iBike are nothing new, as you will see if you search t...

Re: Waterproofing the iBike

You hit the nail on the head there, honestly the unit is great and I can accept short-comings due to the price of the unit. But seriously the water issue is huge...Wait for it I can just see someone is going to say buy the RWS Sensor !! I've gone through around 40 batteries just this winter in Austr...

Re: Wind Calibration Question

So a question for Velocomp, if the temp variance is indeed the issue here. What can be done in the profile to adjust for a 'winter profile', I know there was talk some time ago about a guide coming out explaining step by step how to adjust profiles. Is this still in the design phase? If not is there...

Re: Wind Calibration Question

Hi Avanti I've been having similar issues to you to lately as we get into colder weather. Everyday last week I've been riding in somewhere between 0 - 5 deg C in the mornings. I've left the unit outside for about 20mins to acclimatise, put it on my bike and do a wind offset. While riding I've notic...

Re: Wind Calibration Question

Using your example, an average wind ground speed of 8.4 is massive. So, if this was more or less an out/back ride your wind offset was completely off or as rruff suggests, your wind scaling is way off. I assume it's your wind offset since you've got quite a few rides under your belt. For my rides m...

Re: Wind Calibration Question

I realise it's not perfect but theoretically if ambient conditions are identical at start and end points, will this have the same effect as leaving the iBike outside to acclimatise for 10 mins before doing the wind offset prior to the ride? This should work OK, however it will become an issue if yo...

Sensors and Wind Cal

Hi all, Just bought a second wireless mount different to my original as I went for a Stem mounted mount this time to fit onto my Race Bike. Couple of questions: 1. I went about fitting the IBIKE Sensors to my racebike (My original runs off the Garmin Speed/Cadence sensor). I decided it looked cleane...

Re: Automatically Analyze Route

The analyze route function really puzzles me as well, is it possible to have a more detailed user guide on this function. It can dramatically change the results of a given ride if it's used incorrectly and I think it's worth-while.

Analyze Route

Hi Guys, Hoping to get some guidance, last night I completed a ride 2 hour ride with 7 repeats up a local hill. Re: Wind Calibration Question

I'm not saying you HAVE TO set the elevation. I'm saying I do as a habit. With the latest version of iBike software you have the option to enter starting and elevations if known, so for me I go out of my way to get it right. It's not like it takes too much time. Hi Fernando, Yep I get that, but as ...

Re: iBike Died After Riding in Rain

I'm sorry, I love this thing and it works well. But seriously superglue ! Isn't the real question here why isn't the unit waterproof straight off the shelf. Cycling is an outdoor sport and we are going to get our fair share of harsh conditions. Units should be fully sealed yes?

Honestly, after ridiing with both the 705 and IBike for the last couple of months....I question why you would want the Garmin on there, honestly the IBike does everything it does except for GPS etc. The one thing I like about having the Garmin on board are it's audible alarms and backlight display. ...

Hi all, It may of already been covered and I know the guide is close to coming out, but can we have some guidelines on what 'normal profiles' look like ie: aero: 0.0200 - 0.600 wind scaling: 0.800 - 1.500 etc etc, I have three wheelsets and vastly different numbers....which I can explain due to posi...

Re: Calibration questions

Sorry one more question, I'm fairly happy that my profile will be pretty close to spot on now.
