Powerstoke analyzing a new headset

My well worn headset was challenged by a long rainy ride in the mountains and failed. The headset had been a little stiff bearing-wise for a year and it is now a pleasure to have the front wheel turn without any effort. I was curious to see if PowerStroke would detect any increased side-to-side move...

Re: Cadence indicator

You should check the battery voltage, should be above 2.9V.
Or just replace the battery.
Depending on the sensor, if using a magnet then leaving the crank arm with magnet over sensor can quickly deplete battery.

The only time my PowerStroke has been near perfect is while riding rollers (no surprise)!
And after several roller workouts, my on-road stroke is improved. And then decays back to prior.

Gps merge with Newton from Edge 520

I have not had any problems merging the timing and gps coordinates from my Garmin Edge 500 .fit activities using Isaac with Newton datasets. I have just switched to an Edge 520 and now the gps merge fails in Isaac. Using Edge 520 firmware 10.00 (came installed with the 520) the merge operation fails...

Re: Speed Displayed/Recorded at Twice the Actual

If satellites are not acquired before moving and the Edge decides to calibrate the wheel size, then you can get very wrong wheel circumference. Best to manually set the wheel size. A variance of 1 or 2 mm on the circumference will have negligible impact. Besides, if doing strava stuff, then the spee...

Re: Speed Displayed/Recorded at Twice the Actual

The Edge 1000 is most likely in wheel size auto-calibrate mode. The Newton has you set the wheel diameter and I assume you also did this with the Forerunner. And your wheel size is what it should be. Do not let the Edge auto-calibrate the wheel circumference, rather you should manually set it. The E...

Re: Different distance Garmin and Powerpod in Isaac

You likely have your garmin set to auto-calibrate the wheel size. As a result, the garmin may use a different wheelsize on every ride. The computed wheelsize will be dependent on your gps track for the first 1 km of riding each time you start an activity. If that track is under tree cover, or not st...

Low battery voltage on the gsc-10 will kill speed sensor reporting while still reporting cadence. Any voltage below 3.0V may yield intermittent speed reporting. I find that the wind sometimes "corrects" after doing an 'analyse route'. Particularly I regularly notice that a tailwind will be corrected to a 'drafting' scenario. Just thought I'd mention it as it might be more of an altitude/inclination thing than wind itself. On a group ride today I had strong...
