In Isaac both Drafting (on Cadence) and Out of Saddle (on Elevation) were charted.
These two metrics are not in Aero. Are these metrics no longer available in the latest devices?
If the information is available, could Aero be updated to show these?
Re: Ignorance is Bliss post by Velocomp » Mon Jul 14, 2025 11:40 am Hmm...I have a Newton on my bike that was manufactured 10 years ago. No problems. Agree no problems with Newton! But where have all the Newtons gone? Did Velocomp vacuum them all up on Powerpod update offers? My constant search of ...
I can only grab the scroll bar by the extreme left edge of the bar (bar goes dark gray). Click anywhere else on the bar and there is no response (bar stays light gray).
Scroll wheel works normally to move up and down.
Clicking on the scroll top up-arrow or scroll bottom down-arrow does nothing.
My Garmin Edge 520 has Lap data and I merge the activity.fit files using Aero. Can the garmin lap points be applied to the Aero data? I realize that I am using a Newton (continues to work great) but seems to me that it should be possible to note the lap points from the garmin similar to how gps loca...
One of the things which Aero seems to be missing is the ability to select a portion of the activity for analysis. It is possible in Aero to select from the PEAKS chart the max/min for a time period. In Isaac one could select part of an activity to analyze by dragging the mouse over part of the chart...
In Isaac there was an option to use the other file TimeStamp as well as Lat&Long for gps file merge.
Aero offers Lat&Long on merge. At times the gps file will be more accurate then (in my case) Newton for date and time.
Is there any thought to also merging the Time Stamps in Aero?
Is it possible to erase my Newton's data from Aero without doing a download?
(Was possible in Isaac using "Device->Erase all ride Data". I prefer to do the download and assure no problems then do a later erase. I have had too many NaN downloads over the years.)
... we are strongly recommending all Velocomp power meter owners (AeroPod, PowerPod, Newton) to download and install VA software. You will be able to download and review your ride files, and you will be able to upload firmware changes from VA. ... It is implied above that VA should be able to acces...
Sadly these are no longer for sale and I have not seen any on eBay. If you are no longer using a Newton but still have the "New Front Mount for Newton" I would be interested in purchase. https://mtbbrasilia.com.br/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/FrontMountrearside.jpg Here is the front mount th...
It has been 1 year since a prior post on this sub-forum. I wanted to say that my Newton is still working great after 9+ years and over 1100 activities. :D No problems with battery life and very consistent performance. Only every several months does an activity fail to upload to Isaac. The power is s...
You may need to remove customized fields from the Polar TCX converting to a more "standard" TCX.
Try import to e.g. Strava or Garmin or RWGPS and then export a TCX to do the Isaac merge.
Ctrl-M will also do the GPS Merge. I think this works even if not in Advanced Menus.
(Just don't be in the activity name field edit or Isaac will see a newline).
Easy enhancement request for Isaac to report the average headwind and average tailwind for an activity. The current reporting only shows Min, Avg, and Max. Export to a csv and some spreadsheet effort could do this, but the reporting seems like it would be easy in Isaac. The Effort Speed tool already...
I downloaded from my Newton after a ride today. There was no irregularities during the ride, the Newton transmitted power data to my Edge 520 with no failures. There was a 20 minute cafe stop during which the Newton did not power down nor say it lost any sensors and the Edge 520 did an autopause. I ...
I am changing bicycling database programs from ST3 (SportTracks) to possibly GoldenCheetah (GC). I could use my Garmin .fit files or export tcx or fitlog from ST3. The .fit does not have Windspeed. ST3 does not export additional metrics (e.g. Windspeed or Temperature) which are present in Isaac and ...
My well worn headset was challenged by a long rainy ride in the mountains and failed. The headset had been a little stiff bearing-wise for a year and it is now a pleasure to have the front wheel turn without any effort. I was curious to see if PowerStroke would detect any increased side-to-side move...

You should check the battery voltage, should be above 2.9V.
Or just replace the battery.
Depending on the sensor, if using a magnet then leaving the crank arm with magnet over sensor can quickly deplete battery.
...The nature of its speed sensor requires the wheel diameter to be set to the actual diameter divided by 13.2, which equates to about 159mm. In Isaac, I can only find a way to set the wheel diameter by using tyre markings... In Isaac you can set the tyre circumference in Edit->Edit Profiles-> Basi...
The only time my PowerStroke has been near perfect is while riding rollers (no surprise)!
And after several roller workouts, my on-road stroke is improved. And then decays back to prior.
