Re: POWERPOD BLE WITH GARMIN AEROPOD APP

i am assuming you have installed the Aeropod widget on your Garmin. And have the appropriate screen on the Garmin to view that data coming from the AP. Step by step follow John's instructions (see the Aeropod page on this Forum). BUT it does not work in BLE - only ANT+ as has been mentioned many tim...

Re: POWERPOD BLE WITH GARMIN AEROPOD APP

Your Garmin should see the HRM - you can in searching for sensors select just HRM and the Garmin will isolate to finding your heart monitor - if you are wearing it. You might want to consider taking your Garmin and deleting all sensors that are paired - the start pairing them again - including your ...

Re: POWERPOD BLE WITH GARMIN AEROPOD APP

So you have some success -

As John has pointed out - BLE does not send the key information you want to see. The PP transmits the correct data to the GARMIN - only using the ANT+ format.

So the GARMIN has to be paired with the ANT+ output of the PP -

Re: POWERPOD BLE WITH GARMIN AEROPOD APP

Which device do you have turned on first - the Garmin or the PP? I have no problem if I have turned on the PP first and have the cadence sensor and speed sensors activated. I have an HRM but no DFPM. Check that both of the sensors are actually awake before I turn on the PP and that you see a green l...

Re: POWERPOD BLE WITH GARMIN AEROPOD APP

I suggest you carefully read the instructions for your Garmin device. The 1040 is capable of communicating using either technology. You must select the ANT+ version of your PP found. First setup of the pairing may show both - the PP needs to be awake - rotate your wheel with the speed sensor to acco...

I have been following John's attempts at helping you get good results for all of your bikes. He deserves several medals for the monumental amount pf time he has devoted to you. My suggestion - settle on getting one bike calibrated and forget all the rest of them - until that one is in a sane and sta...

Re: PowerPod V3 issue after clearing memory

Just a couple thoughts Clearing memory or erase all ride data using Isaac? Clearing memory - does that mean a reset - hold the button for 12 seconds - then you would see a new calibration. When you download your latest ride(s), Isaac should show you how much storage is used as a percentage. If you d...

Re: new Trek Speed Concept Blendr Duo Base and Computer Mount and Device Mount Location

I am not sure that the AeroPod or PowerPod are that useful when on a trainer.

The inertial sensitivity is compromised by the lock down of the bike, so I suspect that almost all power to the drivetrain will not be detected.

What wind resistance could possibly be converted to any impact on power?

Yep - saw that a few minutes after I posted this. I recently replaced the battery - but will do that again.

Will then replace the critical values on the new profile to get back to the good set that I have had.

No PowerStroke today

The file from 8-04 is not showing the PowerStroke result yet the file was recorded as a HiDef file - I have been recording all my rides this way. The file date 8-03 does provide the PS results. I get a dialog that tells me to go to iBike to learn about this feature. I check the device keys and PS is...

PowerStroke and saddle position

John -

Anyone come up a few ideas to use PowerStroke to help tune in saddle height and/or tilt?

I have been looking at mine as I make some small tilt changes and a few mm of height (+/-) and seem to see some changes - in the l/r and up/down profiles depicted on the animation.

Thanks

Adjusting Parameters - Check Calibration

The variables held constant are selectable using the advanced options. When installed, Isaac has these set in a default co...

Cadence Sensor Effect?

Until this Spring I have used a Garmin Cadence Sensor on my bikes. As a result most of the time the Power Stroke analysis of my rides has typically shown some asymmetry of the L-R leg action and usually an overall 2 WATTS of power loss. This Spring I went to a Wahoo cadence sensor and up to now I ha...

Re: PPv3 reset?

John - Could the blockage be pretty much inside the case? I don't know if the wind sensor reaches from the sensor on the internal electronics board to the case or if there is some kind of gap - if there is room between the two inspection probably needs some care to determine a blockage. I also do no...

Suggestion:

If you want more time available try turning off the Power Stroke feature - it consumes more battery life as well as data storage.

Following up from John's suggestions - with a speed sensor and a Garmin bike computer, you can set up the sensor to use the GPS features (automatic) to get a measured/estimated circumference and enter that value into ISAAC. I have noticed by this method that it actually can determine changes to the ...

Can you check with the sensors list on the Garmin to make sure that you are seeing a power meter? not sure if that is possible with the On the Bike Computers a Garmin will allow you to see what sensors are present and also are they ANT+ or Bluetooth (BLE). The wheel set is set for gravel - but most riding is on decent asphalt. Roval - SLX-24, Specialized 30-32mm Tires at about 40 PSI. Which probably does raise the Car from normal road values.

Heed John’s words well. The PP3/4 are great devices that depend on just some attention to a few details.
